If you were rewiring your house, what new places would you put outlets?

Any place that you didn’t think of the first time? I put a few outlets in the soffit outside for Christmas lights and other shite, but what about inside? Any recommendations?

EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

I would put at least 2- 4 outlets on each wall.

Inside drawers in the bedroom and kitchen. Especially in the home office, if you have one.

Edit: and definitely in the bathroom so all of my wife's damn strighteners/curling irons/blow dryers would be out of sight and cords wouldn't be all over the place.

They make outlets that instead of being an electrical outlet for plugging in, they are USB ports for charging a phone. I'd put one of those in several spots in the home so we wouldn't all be fighting over the charger. Definitely one where I keep my wallet and keys in the bedroom.

Under the sofa (if located away from wall)
In kitchen island
Soffit or fascia outside (helps with holiday decorations)

Soffits for sure. Extra plugs in the garage and on the back patio.

Wife wants one in her bathroom cabinet to plug all her hair shite into to keep it plugged all the time and still be out of sight.

That's a good idea. I'd make that plug its own 15 amp circuit too.

Seems like a potential fire hazard, no?

These are all good ideas so thanks. I don’t understand the appeal of the USB only chargers though..

I put one behind the TV so I would not have to run my cord down the wall. Would definitely recommend adding the electrical outlet and a box for your HDMI, Coaxial, USB...cords for the TV.

For the guy looking for more USB ports, those are easily switched out if you know how to work with electrical outlets.

Put double bangers in laundry, kitchen, and bathrooms. Outlets on every wall no more than 8 feet apart. Double bang every closet - above the shelf and down low. Pull data lines to every double banger too. Where ever a tv goes, fill that wall up with data jacks and electrical. And terminate all those wires to an upper shelf of a closet. I redid an 80 year old house two years ago. Went crazy and it ain’t crazy enough. Folks will say wi fi is wide enough - until you end up with a crap load of wireless devices and your OT Lounge party friends and their chauffeurs over for a feast while watching sports. Hardwire everything you can.

You don't put these all over, just in strategic spots. Of course you could always switch out the outlets that have two USB ports in the middle, too.

The appeal is if you have a family of four+ and everybody has a phone, a tablet, and some other device.
