I assume she was there and they just used speaker phone

She was in the car with the widow because the deceased soldier has gone through Wilson's mentoring program and they had a personal connection/relationship.

She was riding in the car with the widow when she received the call from Trump according to reports I saw.

After Trump made his statement about her comments she sent out a tweet calling out Trump for referring to the Ms. Johnson as "the widow". Ms. "Wacky Wilson" misspelled the widows first name in the tweet!
