It's essentially a lighter version of McCain's speech the other day and pretty veiled but it's still neocon and he's made plenty of digs at nationalism already. Let's not pretend it isn't a subtle dig at Trump.

I still respect the guy personally and would gladly have a beer with him, He's a great man but damn his Presidency was a goddamn disaster and what made me run the frick away from the GOP in the first place.

There were some parts that seemed to contradict Trump but on the whole it was a great speech and much more likely to have been given by Trump than by Obama.

GW Bush just claimed Russia was trying to turn Americans against each other using Social Media. He must be part of the establishment that is in deep shite.

FWIW, it's economic nationalism. Something that appeals to working class Americans on issues like trade and immigration. This is how Trump won the Rust Belt. These are the forgotten working men and women.

The ole GOP run by the GOPe had this group of voters twice under Reagan's two election victories for president. Other than that the GOPe has never had these voters.

These voters typically voted Democrat. There was a time that Democrats actually cared about these forgotten men and women via union support, immigration policy, tax policy and trade policy.

No more. The Democrats have abandon these voters and replaced them with SJWs via identity politics.

As Trump is rebuilding the Republican party on economic nationalism based on specific policies like immigration and trade the old guard "globalists" GOP establishment are fighting backs joined by the Democrats.

Generally speaking there are three factions:

1. Economic nationalist who want controlled boarders and fair trade policies.

2. GOPe who want open borders and multinational trade accords...just because their corporate lobbyists pay them to support those positions (for cheap labor and corporate protections in trade).

3. Democrats who want open border (to get more future voters) and multinational trade accords (to implement Marxism by abdicating U.S. sovereignty to these commissions within these multinational trade deals).

2. and 3. are fighting 1. Bush 43 falls into group 2.

Look Trump is a brash yankee and should keep his mouth shut BUT I support his tax cut and I support his nod toward Paul's healthcare plan. I wish there was a Trump tax cut plan and a Trump healthcare plan that he could get on the stump and promote. That would be true leadership.

I do wish he would quit rattling the sword. He is simply following the neocon lead when he does that.

The neocons need to make their case. They are wrong on the Middle East but Trump is doing what they want. They are wrong on the UN and NATO but Trump is doing what they want there. So I believe Trump and Bush and Graham and McCain are wrong in these areas. They all talk vaguely about American security and goodness as justifications for our continued meddling and waring but to win me to this thinking they are going to have to convince me with facts.

The only big area policy wise that the neocons and Trump disagree on is immigration. NEITHER is talking about the real solution and that solution is to end welfare and SS for non citizens and to limit work visas to those that can prove they will have a job and health insurance while they are here. We should not limit immigration to those that will pay their own way in our society--if they work and buy their own needs including health insurance we should welcome those economy growers to our society.

I don't think the GOPe (Uniparty-R) realizes how transparent this is - W and McCain are harsher critics of Trump than they were of either Clinton or Obama.

Thanks for not doing shite about North Korea’s development of nuclear weapons, W. Maybe if Trump didn’t have to clean up after you he’d have more time for virtue signaling.

Hey George, any idea what happened to all that money you guys dumped into TARP? I bet it sure didn't hurt that your Treasury Secretary was Henry Paulson former CEO of Goldman Sachs? My memory serves me right he was the one going around telling everyone the sky is falling and that the govamint had to do something or the world would crash.

Care to elaborate?

Everyone on here is jerking off to that neocon John Kelly. I sense some inconsistency.
