It's really tricky in this territory I think. People doubt accounts from kids, and that has covered for creeps and criminals forever. I'm not saying I doubt the stories of adolescents, but I do somewhat question the stories of 50 year old women who aren't stars anymore recounting things like "he danced with me and I could feel him rub up against me."

It has less to do with doubting the recollection of a child/teen as it does being suspicious that past-prime celebrities might be looking for ways to be involved in a "thing."

She has a lot to gain. I'm sure it would be very satisfying to her to see the guy who raped her have to pay for it, even years later.

Um. The police? If you're sexual assaulted you file a police report and hire a lawyer.

If you're 25 and make a conscience and consenting adult choice to be in shitty situations in exchange for a lifestyle you're chasing and later you regret that decision, that doesn't suddenly make it a crime.

I think there's a pretty large difference between manipulating and assaulting/raping a minor and an adult choosing to do something in exchange for excess fame and wealth. I'd happily wish someone to change my mind on that.

By saying it was when she was 16, shouldn't it be somewhat easy for people to narrow down?

I think the press needs to do its job.

Reese did precisely 4 movies in the time frame from 1991-1993(she was 16 in 1992.

This really should provoke the "which of those 4 dudes did it" question.

There is a list of about 8 directors from that rough timeframe appearing on her IMDB.

One of them she worked with again after she was a big star, so I doubt it was him.

One was Diane Keaton and I doubt this was a case of her getting scissored.

This. Anonymous allegations are not brave or noble and accomplish nothing.

Don't other women deserve to know who this guy was?

Honestly, unless she was playing very loose with the "16" part, there are 3 choices.

Robert Mulligan
Mikael Soloman
Marshall Herskovitz

My only beef is with the guys who actually raped women. if some woman agreed to give up the pussy for a role. Hey it's her body her choice, right?

This as well. For every one woman who was illegally assaulted in Hollywood there are probably 1000 whoring themselves out willingly.

Natchitovhes. Can’t remember the name of the film

Mulligan’s career was over after that film.

Herskovitz mainly did TV but nothing special IIRC.

Salomon got that directing job thanks to Spielberg and did Band Of Brothers for him.

Being connected with Spielberg when he was setting worldwide box office records with Jurassic Park probably makes you untouchable.

Rape isn't about the pussy. It's power and control . Study after study suggest sex is not the motive.

Well you had a choice.

You could have defended yourself and put this person behind bars...and gotten a job at the Post Office.

But you chose fame instead and bartered for it.

a look at her film bio would make the identity of the perp obvious.

She was born in '76. Would have been 16 in '92. I'd guess that any movie/show she was in from '92-'94 would most likely fit with her having dealt with the director in '92.

That gives the following movies/shows:

Desperate Choices (1992)
A Far Off Place (1993)
Jack the Bear (1993)
Return to Lonesome Dove (1993)
S.F.W. (1994)

Those directors are (age at time of incident):
Andy Tennant (37)

Mikael Salomon (47)

Marshall Herskovitz (40)

Mike Robe (48)

Jefery Levy (34)

You be the judge.

You know if I was one of the directors who handled Witherspoon around the age of 16 I would have a case of the arse about her comments. She narrowed that shite down till like 4 to 5 people. If I'm one of those four five and I'm not the guilty party I'm like frick you bitch. Thanks for nothing
