When NFL wants to let itself get involved in politics... better be careful.

Tax breaks for the NFL, cities held hostage by NFL franchises to pay for stadium upgrades and new stadiums. Taxpayers that don't give a single shite about the NFL see their property taxes go up, sales taxes go up, etc... to help build new stadiums. Then NFL owners are allowed to keep certain things like 100% of parking concessions while not paying the city any tax revenue for 5 years.

This is a give and take so the NFL ought to be prepared for the sting in the tail. There was already a lot of animosity toward the NFL and this anthem stuff has provide people a rallying point.

Enough.

The xfl was just 15 years early

If they did that shite now, it would be a huge success

North Korea, Healthcare, taxes, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, other domestic issues, Trump has enough shite on his plate. Maybe He should focus on running the country.

Xfl wasn't shite. It was supply without demand

Now demand exists

Not really. I can't see anyone who is "protesting" the NFL is going to tune into a bunch of even shittier football.

no, they are protecting the actions of their greatest investment...the players. And, the players happen to be largely minorities.

This is really an interesting dynamic. The Super rich organization, connected to so many corporations, makes minorities super rich. Super rich minorities speak out against the super rich president (which it was more so than kneeling against police brutality). Socially conscience citizens join the banter while many Trump-supporting "NFL fans" ban the NFL from their homes. We can go on...

This. Trump is trying to help though.

Concussions
Too many commercials
too much pagentry
Too expensive
Over saturated and over-exposed

The NFL has gotten too big for its britches. And they absolutely need to get rid of those tax breaks for stadiums.

A deal written to intentionally give a team a deal isn't a loophole.

You left out the part about the Pentagon paying the NfL to promote the military with all the camo gear and stuff like that. Since we have become a country with a permanent war mentality, this advertisement is important.

Trump - reward the Saudis & declare war on football. Rex was right.

No he's not. He's simply adhering to his promise to Make America Great Again by supporting American tradition which includes respect for our national anthem. And I would add that sports in general is NOT a venue for making political statements. Our nation is darn near evenly divided between left vs right. The smart business move is to remain politically neutral to avoid alienating either side.

the people beginning to tune out the NFL whether they'll admit it or not or are even consciously aware of it, don't find the product as good as they once did

I would be jacked to see big hits, nasty play on the line of scrimmage, and to see a player get hit while catching the ball.

the defensive rules and cba agreements regarding offseason scrimmages/practices/padded and contact practices have created shite football. it doesn't matter how good they are when it takes them half the season to get up to speed.

you can see coaches designing their offenses to compensate and defenses adjusting. so you see fewer sacks, more batted balls at the line. I would wager that the YPC is way down across the league this year.

it just sucks.

and the play in the XFL was good. it wasn't as good as the nfl, but right now the NFL has slop play. best athletes, skills and talent means nothing with the way things are structured right now.
