Would Social Media be better off if only .edu emails were allowed to register?

.edu or the official college email handles.

Did the world benefit or suffer once Facebook opened up to the general public?

In the wake of the Vegas shooting, we have some real special people voicing their opinions...

IIRC, when Facebook was new, you had to have a .edu e-mail address to register.

I get spam emails every single day. I'd say 80% or more are from .edu addresses.
