Need some context. I assume you're talking about the classiest and most moving song to play at your funeral?

November Rain on the music video alone. Slash solo outside that old church. Stephanie Seymour in her prime. I think I was 11 or 12 when that came out, and I had spotted her in a few catalogs that might have been stashed away under my mattress.

"November Rain" might possibly be the most ridiculously over-revered song ever recorded. Almost everything about it screams poor taste. It's like the audio equivalent of a black velvet painting.

If you ever need evidence just read Lonn Friend's book "Planet Rock" where he does everything short of creating a religion in honor of Axl Rose and that song in particular. It's absolutely nauseating.

I'd rather listen to "My Humps" being sung by Madeleine Albright than November Rain. frick that song.

Both are great for lap dances.

Which song do I personally prefer? November Rain. Freebird is a great damn song, but I've always thought it a touch overrated vis a vis the rest of their catalogue.

And to the extent one were on the fence about which song is better, I think a fair tiebreaker would be whether either of them have a music video with a guy unnecessarily jumping through a wedding cake.

Why, man? Just, why?
