Heard about this kid who has a bad case. The shite gets so much deeper than most people realize. Really an awful affliction. Tell us your story.

It's hard to watch when it's legitimate OCD.

I've learned to best it for the most part. Alcohol really helped.

Have suffered from severe OCD since my late teens. Has gotten progressively worse into my mid-20's. I'm on some of the strongest medication out there (outside of lithium), and still have symptoms. Pretty defeating and depressing tbh. The hardest part is at work, especially if you're in a high-stress office environment.

Severe obsessive thoughts, need to pee every 5 minutes, it's pretty bad

Sometimes I have to fap before I can concentrate enough on my work day to leave the house. Really inconveniences me

I treat OCD all the time.
It's an awful condition and it occupies so much time and energy in people's minds.
Would not wish it on my worst enemy.
Well maybe on Coach Malzahn but that is for another board.

Minor OCD... Symmetry. Getting worse as I get older.

Yep, I ruminate a lot. Lexipro helps

I alphabetize the can goods in my pantry.

I had some variation of it I guess when I was in high school.
It wasn't a bad version of it like I've heard where people go to to extreme lengths, harming themselves, but it was weird and annoying and tiring.
I used to have a thing about going outside. I'd have to take a shower every time I walked outside. Sometimes 5-6 showers a day. There were times when I would walk out of the house onto the patio and then run in to take a shower.
Now if I wasn't near a shower, I'd be fine. I played sports and such. But if there was one around, I had to use it.
Would rinse my hands maybe 30-40 times a day. Would always let them drop dry because I didn't want to touch the germ filled paper towels.
Was also always checking multiple times to check if the door was locked.

Come in with the milk. Come in with the milk.

I do but have mostly conquered it since my late 20s with medication and mental exercises. My worst issue is mind racing where I process insane amounts of info very quickly but it goes into a sort of loop in my mind where the same thoughts continue in the same order over & again. Mostly isn't an issue for me anymore unless I'm under extreme pressure.
My tennis partner knows that when she looks back to the service line and I'm alternating placing my left foot then my right on the line it's time for us to "strategize" so I can take a breath before I serve.

Can you ask this question again?
Posted on 9/15/17 at 9:48 pm to baybeefeetz
I have pretty moderate OCD and anxiety. Mainly the constant obsessive worrisome thoughts, numbers--I count items and then figure out what they are divisible by and divide them up in my head, organization and placement of objects, symmetry/order, repetition, physical ticks--constantly shake leg or foot and not even realize that I'm doing it until someone tells me to stop. I used to chain smoke but I had to quit a few years back for health reasons. I've had good results with Buspar and take Xanax as needed. It totally sucks. It's definitely caused difficulties in my personal relationships. I've been called a control freak and a workaholic. It's actually beneficial at work though so that's a plus.
