They got man handled by a struggling LSU team a week before Les Miles got fired last year. What gives them the confidence they will beat a team they've beaten twice in the last 25 yrs?

They have wins over a FCS school and LA Tech. What more do they need?

I do find it funny they've convinced themselves they have as much talent as the top SEC teams though.

Nothing to lose. There are students at State that have only seen State beat LSU once in their lifetime.

Typical MSU fans. Same shite happened this summer in baseball. They thought that they would beatbus because they beat USM. Next thing you know, cannizaro is changing pitchers every batter in the 9th inning when hes down 10+ runs

They had some nice plays i saw against la tech. Will be a good test for our o-line. Still think we put them away tho.

After two games they are +53 against the spread.
We are +13 (and Did not cover last night against a FCS team).
Current spread is 6.5

Mathematical they are doing way better than expected. That said I think we win. It's at MSU so we don't cover, but we win.

They are a decent team this year. We should never take an SEC team lightly.

Same way we are getting our confidence. By beating up on far inferior teams. Last year means nothing. This will be a battle.

State is a good football team. I'm not sure why so many lsu fans are insistent on thinking we will roll over on them. Then again...this is the rant

I think you will be in for a rude awaking on Saturday when the game is very close. I hope the tigers win but unless our O line steps up, we are in for a long day

Guess I'd say 2 things to answer your question.

1. Comparing MSU "fans" to folks who post on message boards is like comparing LSU fans to posters here. It's a subset of a subset. I have MSU fans, alums, ticket holders in my extended family. What they say about MSU football and what the average "grinder" here will about their team and program is radically different.

2. Having said all that, the MSU fans I know personally have faith in Mullen, believe for the LSU game anyway, that Mullen can and will outcoach O. (They saw O up close at OM)

They also believe in Fitzgerald and what may turn out to be a very good DL gives them a fightIng chance in every game on their schedule.

They know overall talent and depth they are behind Bama, LSU etc but feel that are making up difference.

I'd say they are cautiously optimistic but certainly not overconfident or even confident about winning Saturday.

The game came down to two missed FG's

They are like this every year. Just like LSU is with Bama.

I was at the Tech game. LSU better take this team serious. If not we will have trouble with them. Its a home game for them. Cow bells ringing. We have played poorly before by underestimating someone.

Statistically they have the #6 defense in the country. (LSU is #5 in Total Defense)

LaTech gave away soooo many points off turnover it was insane. LaTech was in the MSU plenty of times but did not do a dang thing except turn the ball over.

MSU looks so improved on D - whatever change they made, it looks good. That said, LaTech found some running room at times - if Tech can do that, LSU should be able to pound it.

MSU's secondary and receivers are the weak links....If LSU can find a way to ger the ball to receivers in the open field...game over.

Special team sucked for MSU and LaTech - worst collegiate special teams I have ever seen.

We barely beat em last year and they return their qb who has more experience for one. They have a legit D.C. Now and signed 8 juco players. That gives them college developed players instead of kids just out of HS filling those holes.
