You ever been to Ville Platte, Eunice, Opelousas, Mamou, or Alexandria baw? Go to those towns and come back to tell me Hammond is trashy. Ville Platte makes Hammond look like San Francisco.

Opelousas is definitely trashy. Ville Platte and Mamou are just shatholes.

We just got a Home Depot

No lie it is the nicest Home Depot I've ever been in too.

I've lived here for the last ten years and it's not a bad town. Fall is a lot of fun in town. Sitting outside listening to music and drinking margaritas at La Carretta is something I look forward to especially when the weather is right. They seem to always have something going on downtown at least once a month, decent parks, SLU is a 2 mile jog around campus.

The schools should be better than they are especially given the demographics.

Edit: Augustine's got bought out by the people that owned the Buzz. The Buzz is back and downtown.

Hammond is a great place, and is close enough to BR and Nola to go whenever you want.

Sort of a "pick your poison" situation, then?

Damnn my luck. I was born in New Iberia and moved to Hammond as a young teen....then moved to NOLA just in time for Katrina and the LP just in time for the flood.

Yeah Augustines is now the Buzz but the question is, is can you get the smell of Augustine's out? Lol

As far as the Zaqby's. I give it 6months. It sucks and isn't that close to the interstate. Not many locals will frequent because there is so many better options in town.
