Weathersby is not a so called returning starter but, he started the first three games. He missed the next four due to injury. When he returned for the last five he played twice as many snaps at RT as the starter.

For the last five games LSU had a three man tackle rotation. Malone started at LT and played two thirds of the snaps there. Teuhema started at RT and played one third the snaps at RT and one third the snaps at LT. Weathersby played two thirds the snaps at RT.

Weathersby has some starting experience and a bunch of game experience. We just have to keep him and Clapp healthy along the OLine.

And that was with a back that required offseason surgery.

But but but 2:1 td interception ratio under Orgeron! Jesus man. He only threw 10 td's total under Coach O. 11 total for the year. THATS REALLY BAD. And all those games that we racked up points, you don't think that had anything to do with players setting a single game rushing record in TWO OF THEM, while going for over 350 in a third? Nothing at all to do with playing awful defenses?

We averaged 7.6 points per game vs Auburn, Florida, and Bama.

Holy fk dude. You were serious, you are comparing QBs on yardage and tds even though Lsu throws only half as many passes as other sec teams. You can't make this shite up. The actual measuring tools should be % and qb rating.

No experience at qb. Horrible depth at lber. DE 1st rounder gone. He must be an a&m homer

You are a sad individual. You really are. I fear people like you will have a heart attack if and when lsu comes out smoking on offense....but I'm sure you will have a built in excuse for the success

Yea man you're absolutely right. It's not in any way feasible that LSU didn't throw the ball much because th qb wasn't good at throwing the ball. Mettenberger and Jamarcus never threw the ball either.

When teams don't throw the ball much, especially when facing 8 man fronts, it's because the qb isn't capable of doing so.

Lmao. You are a real winner dude. Bookmarked for when etling lights it up. Again though, you'll have an excuse. You are not the type to say I was wrong.

I'm going to write a blog with my prognostications and start a thread.

I bet I'll be more accurate than Schlabach.

I won't have an excuse if he plays well. If he plays well then he plays well. I want him to play well. I've literally been listing facts. For some reason, those facts hurt your feelings. He played awful last season. He played awful at Purdue and was benched. He played 3 good defenses last year and we averaged less than 8 points a game. We gained 126 total yards vs Bama. We got 6 first downs. I'm not making these stats up. They actually happened. Facts don't care about your feelings

2/1 is still two to one. Doesn't matter if it's 10/5 or 20/10. He really wasn't asked to do much last year in regards to passing.

Here's a couple more Etling facts for you.

Check his 144.5 QB rating against other SEC QBs. How bout his 8.5 per attempt. That's attempt not completion. After starting the year with only four 20 yard completions in the first four games. Worst in college football Etling went on to avg 8.5 ypa with SE as OC. Pretty sure that would be best in the SEC.

Remove auburn, different HC and OC than what finished the year. Tigers had a great offensive game VS the gators for 90 yards of the field. Don't think they will struggle as much on the goal line two years in a row.

As for the rushing single game record. Wasn't it broken three times last year? I thought Guice broke it. Then Fournette broke that one only to have Guice break it again.

Think we play those same crappy defenses again this year.

Etling wasn't terrible. Actually considering his injury and numbness in his leg and foot he did well. He will have a big year. 60%+ 3k. Book it.

Them and florida. Certainly not a stretch to say we might not be that good. We need the offense to get going I think it will but got to c it on the field first.

Defense will be good, real good by the time we get to Florida game.

Hurts (240 of 382 for 2780 yds) also had 112 more pass attempts than Etling (160 of 269 for 2123) Comparing rushing stats is moronic. Hurts also accounted for 14 turnovers, 9 picks and 5 fumbles lost and he really declined towards the end of their season. Losing 4 hard fought games last year with passing numbers like we had isn't that bad. Makes for a very interesting season with a new OC IMO.
