Good for him. He's a good QB and the Lions would be terrible without him.

Glad the Raiders were the first with Carr so that deal looks better and better and better as we go on.

Matt Stafford is now the highest paid player in NFL history. Not bad for a guy who has less career playoff wins than Tim Tebow

And people bitched and moaned about Brees who actually earned his pay while you got so many other guys making close to the same amount and Brees continues to put up top 3 qb stats the last several years

Winning the SB alone in NOLA justified any pay raise

To put in perspective that is a about $1.5 million per TD if you go off of last years numbers.

What has he done to justify this?

Serious question.

Good for him. Certainly not his fault the Lions suck.

Good for him but I was wishing he would be Drew's replacement.

Aaron Rodgers will become the first $30 million per year player.

Progression of big qb deals for questionable talent/production:

Romo
Cutler
Kaepernick
Wilson
Tannehill
Cousins LOL
Carr
Cousins again . . .
Stafford

Cousins yet again because the Redskins completely shite the bed with him.

Excluded from the list are the top guys who are beyond proven, Andrew Luck who has pretty immense talent, and Matt Ryan who somehow won a league MVP.

He's a good QB, and obviously the Lions have to do whatever it takes to keep him, but he's remarkably lousy against good teams. Something like 5-50 in his career against teams that finished over .500.
