Define 'no'?
As in, they are still a program 'no'?
Or, they won't be competitive for a long time 'no'?
If the first, you are correct.
If the later? You are wrong. They are done for all intensive purposes. This is a death penalty issued pretty much for a high school football program. See how well Bastrop has done since their penalties were laid down?

She failed to mention the 2-year post-season ban they will experience.
Wow indeed. John Ehret has to be breathing a sigh of relief right now.

I hear forfeits of the last two titles and the runner-up before that.

I've received every bit of proper info as to what happened. I won't spill the source as he is a standout man.
It is a crime that the kids were punished for what happened, but because of the technical side of rules there was no way around it happening. Adults screwed over the students in the end. Because of a technicality they are toasted.
I thought it had to do with recruiting, but it really didn't have anything to do with recruiting from the purest of standpoints. Recruiting does not have to be because a coach or administrator approaches a student-athlete about coming to his school and will receive some sort of financial incentive for doing so. No, it can be as simple as paper-work and accounting. Crazy.

Southern Lab will forfeit football championship trophies for 2015 and 2016, along with a runner-up trophy from 2014, based on sanctions released by the LHSAA at a joint news conference held Tuesday at the LHSAA office.
LHSAA Executive Director Eddie Bonine said the ruling was based in large part on an investigation done by Southern Lab which started in Oct. 2016. Bonine said those findings were turned over to the LHSAA on Friday. Southern Lab School Director Herman Brister and Bonine both addressed the media.
Bonine said the investigation showed Southern Lab violated a variety of recruiting rules, including ones providing payments or inducements for athletes that other students did not receive.
The school will forfeit all games from those three seasons and be banned from the football playoffs for two years. The coaching privileges of head coach Marcus Randall, a former LSU and Glen Oaks High School quarterback, were suspended for one year. Randall was entering his third season.
Southern Lab’s other sports will be placed on an administration probation and won’t be subject to a playoff ban.
Assistant coaches involved with the program over the past three years also are subject to suspension under the sanctions. Bonine and Brister said the status of coaches and the eligibility of current and former players, including those who have transferred to other schools, will be scrutinized in the coming days.
Southern Lab does not play in a jamboree this week and Brister said a coaching plan would likely not be finalized until early next week. The Kittens open their season at Riverside Academy on Sept. 1.
This is way more than "paperwork"
You don't suspend assistant coaches because of "paperwork"

There are a number of select schools that violate this rule. I'm interested in how they were caught.

The other transfer Princeton Pines to Ponchy was forced back to Baton Rouge.
He wasn't forced by anyone as if someone was in the wrong, PHS did their due diligence and the kid just had to go where he was zoned.

I doubt Hutchinson at WM gets cleared. It would be fishy as heck if he is after this wild off-season that we have seen around the state.
If Hutch isn't cleared, no one should be cleared. He's as clean of a transfer as there is. Zero wrongdoing whatsoever.

I should have used better wording..
I will not spill my source as I swore to him I would not, but I can spill the information provided.
What happened had to do with financial payments to cover the tuition costs for the student-athletes in the football program. They offer financial help to kids who can't afford the tuition. Well, Southern University is supposedly involved with this and the books are kept for accounting purposes. This money never made it to the players to pay for their tuition. The money was "pocketed" by the coach that was fired from Capitol and Randall knew about it as they were best friends and did nothing.
So, what happened was the players went to school without ever paying for tuition whatsoever--a benefit that other 'normal' students did not receiver themselves (seeing they had to pay their way).
What I don't know:
I don't know if the student-athlete's pocketed any of this money or their families; I don't know if Randall pocketed any of the money either.
The technicality is that the players probably had no idea they were playing for free, but the infraction happened and had to be punished.
So, it was not really paperwork, but more accounting as it was noticed the money wasn't there. That is how Southern University got involved and investigated.
There is probably more to it than this and just scratches the surface, but it is enough to explain how it all started.

There was zero wrongdoing on the part of the players at Southern Lab from all accounts I have heard from sources super close to the investigation. It was the adults.
I have read the rules thoroughly and if they so wish to rule in any way they can find any loop to do so. It is a crap shoot in all sense of the phrase.
He may be; he may not be, but don't be so sure it will happen just because it looks like it is clean.
Wossman did not file this complaint out of thin air. The onus is on the receiving school to prove absolutely everything. I expect with West Monroe's clout over the years they should have zero problem in doing so. If they can get Cameron Robinson clear I guarantee you that Hutchinson will be cleared.

I don't really understand linking West Monroe HS to this story without any knowledge of the details of the transfer. West Monroe has always been heavily scrutinized regarding transfers because the administration anticipates a challenge.
While the Wossman kid may or may not wind up playing for the Rebels, I'll lay money West Monroe will not be penalized for recruiting this kid.
Personally I'm pulling for him NOT because he makes West Monroe better, but because it makes HIM better. Just my two bits.

B
What? We have transfers all over the board this year:
John Ehret, Ponchatoula, Landry-Walker, Amite, West Monroe, just to name a few. We had a kid meet with the coach at Ponchatoula to transfer, but didn't stay. I've heard different accounts as to why his father did not move back to his hometown. They all sound prudent.
We even have Hahnville's quarterback transfer to Destrehan in the off-season himself in Mako Marin. About a 6'5 250 jr this year is all. Great basketball prospect also.
We have the ED of the LHSAA come out and explicitly state that he will be looking at ALL TRANSFERS within the state with scrutiny--past and present.
Tell me how this doesn't link to West Monroe after Wossman just filed a complaint with the LHSAA?
You for serious?

Yeah, but you pat tuition to attend Southern Lab.

At Southern Lab you must pay a fee/tuition to attend the school.
If you can't afford it financial assistance can be garnered. That assistance was pocketed. It never made it to the accounting books. Southern University was alerted to it and investigated and found the culprits, but they took their time in finding out all the infractions that were going on.
That is all I know. I don't know if Randall got any money or any of the money went to the players families or not. I do know that the coach at Capitol did receive some of that money.
