Thank you. Not hard at all. I get the "different strokes for different folks" but dressing like you gave it at least one moment of thought projects confidence and is therefore sexy.

SELA folks typically dont give a shite about anything. That's the charm and downfall of the area.
That's my New Orleans quote.
The best and worst thing about New Orleans is that people generally don't give a frick.

Some of the more miserable people on this board are the ones complaining about the way people dress and their physical appearance.
Wait..so anyone who observes something you dont agree with must be a miserable person? OK.

You know what really projects confidence? Wearing whatever you please.

Not every baby boomer was a hippy, how can one generation still be blamed for all the country's ills

And this is going to sound really mean. A fat person looks sloppy and unhireable to me even when wearing a suit

Of course not, but many on this board seem genuinely bothered by the appearance of those around them. That is a miserable person.

OK then you do you. That's cool too, buddy.

I wear non-cargo shorts as well as some that are cargo. I also wear t-shirts, LSU and otherwise, when I'm out and about on a Saturday. If you want to look down your nose at me and think I'm not taking pride or giving a thought to my appearance, that's your problem, not mine.

Idk slacker.
Nurses are the only profession where I can give them a pass on dressing nice all the time. They are in scrubs 50+ hours a week.
Even if im taking a woman on a date who I have no intention of anything LTR. I will still dress nice because it matters to me.
I know different strokes for different folks, but I have never been in a relationship with a woman who didn't dress well. But that is just me. Some folks are fine with whatever.

I try to dress as well as I can afford, but people who dress sloppy don't bother me.
Do I use their appearance to help judge them? Sure, but they don't bother me in the least.

Not really.

Ok let's use a dirty restaurant as an example. I am genuinely bothered when I enter a restaurant that is dirty. Does that make me a miserable person? Higher standards is not the definition a miserable person. I know a lot of happy people who like nice things and trashier people who are miserable. Your thought process here is illogical.

We should all dress like Don Draper and pretend like the last 60 years of clothing evolution never happened

It's all personal preference, but there is no denying it takes confidence to wear whatever you damn well please.

I don't know that it bothers me, but I'd just rather not be around sloppy people if I can help it.
For instance, I'd rather shop at Fresh Market, than Walmart, mostly due to the clientele.

ah yes. Overpriced workout wear is the new collared shirt. Strange times we live in.

I disagree, some people just generally don't care about their appearance. Apathy does not equal confidence, IMO.

I think that is more of an indictment on the places you go and your social circle. It is not like that where I live

, terrible example.
Being bothered by a dirty restaurant is fine. Being bothered by a dirty, smelly person is fine too.
Being bothered by a person wearing cargo shorts, Crocs, or a US Polo Association shirt is another story altogether.
