Your Favorite Sour/Funk Beers and Food Pairings

What are some of your favorite sour/funky beers/breweries?
I've become a huge sour fanatic over the past couple years. Even brew my own long aged mixed fermentation sours. I find the good ones are akin to a fine wine. And they pair well with food and cigars as well. The acidity and tartness really cleanses the pallet after a puff on the cigar.
With that said, what are some good pairings of sour/funky beer/styles with different foods?

The last few times I've smoked meat, I really enjoyed pairing with sours.
My favorite was Wicked Weed (RIP) Marina with ribs. It was peach/apricot, worked great with the smoky pork.

I have a Marina in the sour cabinet. That does sound like a great pairing. I try to pair a sour red, or a kriek with a steak.

It is a great beer, pleasantly tart, not enamel ripping. And the fruit really shines. It reminded me a lot of drie fonteinen lambic.
Another pairing I liked recently was a raspberry sour with a lamb rack.

I don't know about pairing, but the Lagunitas Aunt Sally Sour Mash Ale is probably my favorite beer right now and has been for about 6 months. I love an IPA, but i'll take the Aunt Sally over any IPA at the moment.

I love all of Wicked Weed sours. I went to Houston a couple weeks ago and brought back every one i could find. Marina being one of those.

Have one of these on hold for a special occasion as well. Great beer!

I had a raspberry sour from urban family brewing. They make ok sours. SOme hit, some miss. But their raspberry sour was really good. Very affordable sours.

Back to what you were saying with this, i'm glad that some of the sour breweries are staying away from the uber sour tart profile. I couldn't drink any of Cascade's stuff. Way too sour and it gave me hellacious heartburn. I found avery's raspberry sour to also be a little too tart, as well as NOLA's lowerline (though i havent had it in awhile).
Jester King, Jolly Pumpkin, Wicked Weed, and Crooked Stave round out my top sour US breweries right now, of the ones i've tried. Only able to get JP here in Louisiana, but their stuff is fantastic.

The cascades I've had haven't been too tart for me, but I agree with you on Nola's. Although I do think their sours taste great, they are hard to drink sometimes.

Russian River, Crooked Stave and Jester King sours are my favorites.

Mussels and Drie Fonteinen Oude gueze are a great pairing.

Victory kirsch gose is my favorite. It pairs well with pork roast.
Unfortunately can't get it around here.

Victory Brewing's Kirch Cherry Gose is probably my favorite sour that I've tasted. And it paired excellently with the Korean BBQ we were eating.
Really the only thing I wouldn't pair it with is mild seafood. Anything heavy, meaty, spicy would go great imo.

JK Atrial Rubicite with tapanade, asiago goat cheese and a cruchy loaf are very nice.

I'd think a light brett saison would go well with mild seafood.

Jolly pumpkin is criminally underrated
I love a good gose, or Sofie/saison with crawfish.

Oud bruin with spicy chili on a cold night
A super barnyardy blonde/pale with steamed mussels.
Kriek with vanilla ice cream.
