It's obvious that coach Canada has a diverse offense that excels in spreading the ball around. Last season the LEADING receiver for Pitt only had 36 receptions. Does anyone think that it will be a little more difficult to recruit the receiver position in such a diversified offense that features more running plays for receivers?

Add a little context...
Pitt '16 had 91 rushes by WR (LSU=13)
Pitt was 62.6% rushes (LSU=60.6%)
Pitt had a total of 189 rec/comp (LSU=174)
Pitt ran 866 plays (LSU=757)

*did not adjust for 1 less game by LSU

What I glean from that... rather the sales points I would make to WRs using that info is that:

A) WRs were much more involved (total plays w/rushes & passes)
B) Canada is trying to get the ball in hands of playmakers
C) Because of the spread the ball around, you as a WR, have some distinct advantages. E.g. less bump and run and easier to get off the line.

There is a lot of truth to those. Not 100%. Nevertheless there's data to support the "sales pitches".

So no, I do not see them having issues convincing WRs. Sales pitch (A) is the big one.

ETA: thought of another pitch, to RB, QB, and WR that has a lot of truth to it...
"We run spread concepts". That's basically what Canada does, or has done at times (he's somewhat all over the place historically). Stretch field horizontally, get fastest players in space with ball. That's the objective. And if you're creative enough, and talented enough, you can do that from any formation and no matter the spacing on your linemen.

Their best receiver last year was quadree Henderson and he only had 26 catches but had over 600 rushing yards. It's less about regular statistics and more about getting the ball in the hands of your playmakers. Henderson was an all American last year with those statistics.

we got some pretty damn good recievers to commit when miles was 75-25 run-pass ratio(Sarcasm)...so i feel like if anything it will be easier to recruit WRs

Not at all, several WR will touch the ball alot in his offense. I also think with us having trouble getting WR now, Coach O will have Canada featuring them as much as he can, as he knows recruits will be watching year one this fall to see what we can do in the passing game post Miles/Cameron.

He'll run an offense that best utilizes the talent. Look at his whole career and not just last season.

Just the recruiting aspect of the op's question. There are 3 areas of the field that I am not concerned about recruiting at LSU. Running back, wide receiver, and defensive back. The state of Louisiana consistently produces players at those three spots. People asked how Les kept getting those receivers and that is why. Most of them were in state players

Impressive fact/stat findings but I do think that there is the potential of this effecting recruiting. Typically, WRs who carry the ball a lot are viewed as slot guys at the next level. LSU has had success in having receivers move on to the pro level and excel, and I'm not just talking OBJ or JL. IMO, if I'm a kid with pro aspirations I'd shy away from playing in an offense that didn't allow me to fully showcase my hands and route running and ability to create separation or beat press coverage in the SEC on a consistent basis. To find this type of player, you'd have to target a kid that was a RB in high school and recruit him as an ATH. Although LSU rarely play guys in the X position that are 6'3" or better, I don't think this style of play helps. From a fan perspective it doesn't bother me as long as it produces wins.
