Am I the only one that is really rooting for this guy to have a Debo Jones/Duke Reilly like senior year?

He has always been a great ambassador for LSU going back to when he was a recruit.

He also has stuck with the program even when things haven't gone his way. It would have been easy for a former 5 star to transfer when he doesn't see early playing time (ex: savion smith).

I just hope this kid finds a way to be an impactful player this fall.

Good luck to you Ed, I'm rooting for you!

I second that. I'm hoping he's the next Brandon Taylor.

I'm rooting for any Tiger to step up and play their arse off this season. I don't care if it's Ed Paris, any of the receivers, Herron, Etling or all of the above. If they can't then next man up. I just want to win and will root for those committed to winning as well.

This. But, yeah, Go Ed! You do root for the guys that stick it out, put in the work and are great ambassadors for the program.

I'm with you but it seems that Seniors have had more luck stepping into the LB role since we have been a little thin there. If you aren't playing DB by the time you are a Junior you're probably not going to play. He came in as a CB and the talk has been about moving him to Safety, and I don't know if I see it. If he didn't beat Battle out for Jefferson's position (when Battle was a Sophomore and Paris was a Junior) I don't see him beating out Monroe (Sophmore), Delpit or Stevens for significant playing time.
I certainly agree on all accounts about him being a great ambassador and never complaining or anything. I hope the kid gets his chance, but I also want the best players to play.

I could be wrong but wasn't he still a CB last year? I'm not sure him not playing at safety a year ago really holds any weight on how affective he can be this year.

I think Ed is a great competitor. I think he will see the field not only on ST but play a major role on the defense. His stock will rise with this season.

I am sure he will not only have more playing time than he can get, but he will do great... Reminds me of Reid back in the day at Safety.

Ed's a friend of mine, real good humble dude. Glad to see everyone behind him. He's got his chance this year.

I've been rooting for Paris since it was known that he wasn't gonna make it as a corner. And as a recruit he loved LSU and probably got one or two guys to ultimately sign with us. If he has the instincts and can tackle then I think he has plenty athleticism to play safety for us.

Sorry guys but Delpit is the real deal and will not be on the bench. Also hearing that Todd Harris is coming along also. To be honest, i never really hear anything about Ed Paris. He hasnt been making no noise.

Ed Paris will play a significant amount of snaps at safety this year. Delpit and Harris may be more talented but Paris is a senior and that counts for something. Honestly, he deserves it. And it's not like he's some scrub athlete. Kid was a 5 star corner coming out of Texas.

Yes I hope and do think Ed gets lots of playing time due to his commitment and love for LSU. Sounds like a helluva kid. But at the same time if Paris still cant get the job done, you cant just keep playing him because he is a Senior when you have two potential studs in Delpit and Harris behind him. Even though they are freshmen, if they are better then they should start over Paris. That was one of Miles problems by starting people like Dj Welter ahead of way betters players just because he was a Senior.

With all that said, I hope Ed balls out and does great at whichever position he plays.

I have always rooted for Ed Paris for the reasons you and others cited.

In addition, I used to live in Mansfield, Texas, where he attended high school and have fond memories of it, so that is another reason.

I think he gets supplanted in the starting lineup by 1 of the freshmen. He doesn't seem to have "IT". Hopefully, he has a great season.

Why wouldn't everyone root for that?

Am I the only one rooting for Etling to have a Rohan Davey-like senior year?
