An errant U.S. airstrike confirmed by the Pentagon killed 12 Afghan National Police officers and wounded two others, Helmand provincial police chief Abdul Ghafar Safi said Saturday.
The United States in a statement confirmed that the airstrike on the Security Forces compound happened during a U.S.-supported operation against Taliban insurgents in the area.
Is anybody still buying this?

There is ZERO reason to be there. Our objectives now seem to be.
A. Get about one US soldier per week killed over there.
B. Kill a few bad guys.
C. By sheer statistics of airstrikes have frick ups like this occur every so often.
Get the frick out!!!!!

Nothing is errant as far as a missile strike is concerned. Our missiles are led in by intelligence forces (CIA) on the ground or Special Ops using extremely accurate GPS coordinates or pulsed laser operating at specificly tuned wavelengths visible only to the missile and to the engagement team.
This was a calculated strike and there were people there who were dirty bad guys. It is intentional disinformation so that the U.S. takes on the blame and local, on-the-ground intelligence isn't compromised. Sorry, I know enough to know there's no longer an errant missile. It's either bad intelligence, or good intelligence receiving cover.
