I don't either and that is why I'm looking forward to this upcoming season. I knew what to expect and what I was getting from a Miles led team. That's why my interest in LSU football was tapering off. It became boring and stale to me.

At least this season is a breath of fresh air.

I've watched a few of Pitt games from last season to get a feel for what to expect from Canada. I'm interested to see how it works. Just because it worked in the Big 10 doesn't guarantee success in the SEC.

I think Drake Davis & Anderson will be our top 2 WRs by midseason.

Our schedule is brutal but I think it's setup well for us to gain some momentum going into gauntlet part of it. Give us time to work out the wrinkles.

Defense will take a step back. We lost our heart and soul (Beck & Adams) of it.

Really? How about these two linemen who are committed for the 2019 class.

#1 Rated offensive guard #12 overall rated player for the 2019 class
Kardell Thomas (LA)
LINK

#2 Rated offensive tackle #19 overall rated player for the 2019 class
Kenyon Green (TX)
LINK

For 2018

LSU has the #12 overall offensive guard committed.

The #6 overall offensive center.

The #20 and #21 overall defensive tackles.

The #11 overall Weakside DE.

The #1 overall Junior College Weakside DE.

Plus Cameron Wire at OT Nelson Jenkins DT.

All of these are committed which mean absolutely zero, these rating don't mean anything either. All that means is what some guys opinion is. Even if all of these guys sign they still have never played a single down of college football and these ratings mean nothing.

Look I hope all of these guys sign and become All American. I am just saying ago it is obvious that the talent on the roster isn't what it was last year, 3 years ago or 5 years ago. I am not bashing just stating the obvious.

New Years 6....Happy now? Why don't you actually answer the question in the post instead of coming up with pointless shite to talk about

just admit you got schooled and was wrong...

There is an outside shot of this IF...
1) Chark gets injured
2) Gage gets injured
3) Anderson gets out of the doghouse

I agree OP. Part of me feels like we will go through some growing pains with so many new guys being counted on. But, part of me is very excited for the potential of a lot of the young guys to get their shot. If I was forced to make a prediction, I would say that the defense will get better as the year progresses and will be playing really well by the UF game. The offense will have some growing pains but eventually be pretty efficient. Looking forward to it either way.

I'm assuming you're referring to Football.

My expectations are to see an offense that keeps defenses off balance with Canada's game plans & adjustments. On defense, I trust Aranda will have them prepared and ready to play. Therefore, LSU should be in a position to win the big SEC games. Playing FL, Bama, & TN on the road is going to be tough. Aub at home is not a gimme. I like LSU's talent but there's too many unknowns to say they are at championship level this season.

TL/DR - 9-3

The rational way to approach football is to not have any expectations and see what happens. Take one game at a time. For damn sure don't get wrapped up in preseason polls. Preseason polls are just fantasy to fill space for publications or air time for TV.

In the technical terms yes, the BCS served its purpose to line up teams with performance data to determine a national champion that wins the championship game.

The new format fine tuned the BCS system and basically made a 4 team playoff. I wish this was expanded to 8 TEAMS but maybe 3 bowl type games is too many

I have low expectations and honestly I hate it. I liked the feeling of truly believing we had a shot at the national title.

My follow up to this would be, if the only difference were the man on the sideline, would your expectations be what they used to be?

If you felt that LSU had a shot at the national title just because Les Miles was on the sideline, then you were setting yourself up for failure.

This LSU team is no different than the last 6 we have had. Enough talent to put together a season worthy of a championship. They also have enough holes to lose 3-4 games. The later is more likely. There's a reason Vegas has pegged us right ~9.5 wins for 3-4 years now.

I'm expecting a 10 win season because the program has new life. I believe that changed and adjustments will be made accordingly because of our new staff. CEO got his arse handed to him at OM and learned a lot from it. He admitted his mistakes and seems to understand that letting his top tier coaching staff do their job will get him to the promise land. The talent is there and from top to bottom these tigers are hungry. I love the camaraderie of the team and the professionalism that our coaches bring.

Your aspirations are too lofty. I would be happy with a Bowl Alliance matchup, or even a Bowl Coalition pairing of some sort.

I endured the stench of the last two years of Mike Archer and the entirety of the Curly Hallman regime. That was redolent of a noxious exhalation of intestinal gases.

That's such bullshite. LSU was absolutely loaded last year. The coach barely kept his job and we were preseason #4. This team isn't nearly as talented, the schedule is much tougher and we don't get Bama at Death Valley with a true freshman QB.

I'll go sit in my season tickets every game and hope they win them all but I'll be SHOCKED if they win 10 games. I thought they were gonna win the whole damn thing last year.
