Saving $2,000 a Year by Eating Samples at Costco and Grocery Stores
Excerpt of link:
"My boyfriend and I eat a meal of Costco samples approximately three times a week. We work within walking distance and do purposely use this as a money saving technique. I don't see anything wrong with it. We pay for an executive membership and part of that membership is sample offerings. We are always respectful of other shoppers and only double dip if a new sample lady arrives. It is not the most healthful meal but our financial situation is not very healthy either. You do what you got to do. I monitor our budget closely and I estimate we save $100 to $140 a month using this method at Costco. On the weekends we use the same technique at regular grocery stores, for example Whole Foods, Central Market and HEB, saving an additional $40 to $80 dollars a month. We do not live near a Publix but I hear they have excellent sample offerings."
Anyone else do this or would consider doing this?

Growing up, my mom would take us to Sam's to do this before a movie at Tenseltown. That way, we wouldn't be hungry for snacks at the theater, she could feed us a free lunch, and then after the movie we would go back and buy the frozen foods we really liked to take home.

I think any membership allows you to eat samples.
They are there so if you want them have at them. I assume if Costco had issue they would stop that practice.
I do not eat the samples when I go to Costco.

Apparently these fricks can't cough up a $1.50 for the All Beef Hot Dog and a Drink deal. Losers.

I caught a buzz one time trying all the liquor samples at the Spec's on Smith St. in Houston before an Astros game. Every aisle has someone sampling out different spirits. It was glorious.

I've never gotten any samples at Whole Foods, and Costco is very hit and miss. Not a reliable food source, IMO.

Seems like more trouble than it's worth. Beans and rice are extremely cheap as is mac and cheese.

I would lose money on that deal. I can't go into that store without blowing $300, I mean I don't think it is possible.

Why not just eat shite off the shelves and put empty boxes back and then leave?

Eating grocery store samples instead of actual food isn't worth $2000
