Per Source: UFA James Young will sign with the New Orleans Pelicans at the start of Free Agency [via @PerSources] -
I have no idea if this site is legit but the guy who tweeted it appears to live in Boston and hasn't really shared any other rumors. Take it for what it's worth. I could see the fit though. Another young vet lol. LINK

It won't be, Young is talented but has literally done nothing in the NBA to this point. I think he averages less than 5 points a game

When a former 1st rounder doesn't get their option picked up it should lead to a minimumish prove it deal like happened to Aminu and Terrence Jones. But we also know what happened to Solomon Hill after Larry Bird declined his option and coldly told him "I'll see you in the DLeague"

I'll gladly take him. He's been in the league for 3 years and is 2 years younger than Heild. Was never going to get playing time in Boston. I'm sure he will be cheap, and if it doesn't work out, so what. He has some potential, especially if he can improve his 3 point shot and decision making.

I have read the biggest complaint with Young is he just doesn't care enough about improving his game. All the talent, but more concerned with the lifestyle than developing. Celtics didn't see him as a fit with their culture because of it.

Mid first round pick that played for Kentucky a few seasons ago. Drafted by Boston, never really saw the floor in meaningful minutes.

Seems like a minimum, unguaranteed type of dude. See if you can do well on a reclamation project, if not cut bait.

QPon played a big role, he's the best starting SF we've had since Ariza. He just did it for a short period of time. If Young can give the team what QPon did when he was healthy then he will vastly exceed expectations.

Odd that there are rumors about an end of the bench type guy signing with the Pelicans. While I realize teams probably talk to agents prior to July 1, you would think no one would want to give the impression of tampering.

This is such a random rumor to makeup/leak. Pels would never leak this, so either made up or agent driven. Odd person to leak it to if it is agent driven though, but too random/insignificant to just make up this far ahead of free agency.
