Also, looking for any hole in the wall seafood joints in Boston that won't break the bank to give us a taste of some chowder and/or lobster.

There are very few "cheap" restaurants in Boston. If you're looking for cheaper lobster, try and get that done while you're in Portland or one of the places you stop at along the way.
