What year is your CJ7? What carb do you currently have installed? If it is a Carter BBD, go ahead and replace it.
I put a Weber K551 on my CJ5 and it runs like a spotted arse ape!

I think WTF is on to the problem. The Carter BBD does not have a good reputation. You can read all about it at Jeepforum.com if you have the time.

The guys recommend replacing it with a Weber.

I did the same thing to mine back in the day. Huge improvement.

81. The original carb. Id rather not have to fork out 300 bucks so im going to try and clean it first.
