Jrue changed agents to his brother Justin's agent so they could try and sell themselves as an overpriced package deal to some team.

Morris brothers' style deal. Give them 30 mil combined, they can split it how they would like.

Man bovada doesn't have super bowl futures, division futures, or NBA playoff yes/no or win total futures. Slacking! Or just being smart idk.

Coulda stopped there. Kyler doesn't have any insight. He basically gathers tweets and articles and puts together his "thoughts."

Agreed on Cunningham and growth. But I also don't think you are likely to find a better proven player for that role with his $$.

like you say, it's a role of the dice. maybe they see someone they like/believe in more around his $$. if that's the case, they should go for it. weirdly, that guy just might be Justin Holiday

quote:

if they go into the season with dead roster spots in the front court with qpon/ajinca/asik again then they can't roll out hill and Cunningham.

why not? Both Hill and Cunningham had some of the best Net +/- when the Pels were playing small ball. You can try to recreate that success with Davis or Cousins as the 5 when the other is resting.

the trick will be who plays the 3 w/ both Davis + Cousins. that could be a problem give Hill and Cunningham's skill sets. but they aren't finding that sweet shooting 3, who can also do some work off the bounce, with their cap space this summer anyway.

right, neither is a great fit at 3
hill better than D.C. though and I think you have to plan that way

before cousins D.C. had a role, and if not this year then next you have to find better

here's a mark stein nugget for today

League sources: Cavs, Pacers and Nuggets have discussed a three-way deal that would land Paul George in Cleveland and Kevin Love in Denver

maybe if they swing love gallinari or chandler might be in play

Yea, 10 mil together sounds a lot better than that, but I'm trying to be realistic.

Found this on Hoops Rumors

quote:

Sources tell Stein that Dallas plans to re-sign Noel and focus on its young core and won’t pursue Pelicans free agent Jrue Holiday, who has been linked to the team in past rumors.

If true, that really only leaves Minnesota chasing Jrue. Seems that Dell is bidding against himself...it's a long way away until Friday night/Saturday morning

If Minny gets Jrue that team is super interesting.

If they land Lowry they'll be insane.

If that happens, or they prefer Hill or Teague, and Dallas isn't interested in Jrue, then that has to REALLY hurt Jrue's leverage.

Except Demps has reportedly already made an offer. I don't think he can change it much without it looking bad. What if they lower the offer and Jrue takes less money elsewhere? David West said the beginning of the end was when the team traded Chandler in a penny pinching move West and CP3 felt violated promises made by the team to spend to compete. The last thing you want is AD/DC thinking you cheaped out on them with Jrue.

Yeah. That's sort of their problem though- have to compete right now to keep Boogie. but if he still bolts anyway, they could be stuck w/ more poor, long term deals. and just as the cap expansion seems to be slowing down

Nobody undersigned anything.
and since Dell gave him the offer - league announced reduction in cap number.

Pels will offer him the most money, probably even years. It all depend on Jrue. If he wants to go to Minny or Dallas - it might happen only trough s & t.
He probably don't wanna go to Brooklyn. Philly is a little concerning there. But they will have Simmons and fultz for ballhandling.
NY might be interested - but he probably won't like to go into this mess. But Melo/Noah/KP might be resolved, and then maybe...
Denver is interested, but has other options. Right now they have other priorities. They want PF.

Looks like Pels situation is not bad there. For retaining him or s & t.

Well, that offer can't stay valid forever. If he starts dicking around and doesn't sign soon after free agency starts, he has to understand that things may change.

A lot of Big Boards suffer from Group think or "herding". I love Kevin Pelton's big board bc the analytics tend to buffer a lot of bias. On KP's big board he had Jackson as the 33rd best player and 27th in just a pure stats analysis. So Jackson went pretty much where he should have.

I hate most mock draft big boards bc they all look the same. Most writers don't want to take shots on guys they believe in because they don't want to be embarrassed if they are wrong.

GM's don't share their boards and they probably vary a lot more. I'm sure Dell had a 1st round grade on Jackson. That's all that really matters.

In yalls opinion, why doesn't the loyalty we've shown Jrue during his time here, such as giving him time off to support his wife, help us none now? Seems like the Pels have done right by him, and he's just looking to go money chasing somewhere else....

It's a business first and damn near every other team would have done the same thing we did in that situation.
