I get two months out of mine. Spend 10-15 seconds cleaning and drying them and they'll last
I shave every other day typically

can you explain? This makes no sense to me.
The water rusts and dulls the blade quicker if you don't dry it off
Google ways to make razors last longer

Hydro 5 for me but it's probably just like the other 5 blade razors. So so much better than 2 or 3 blade razors.

Darth, I had a thread about razors awhile back and I took someone's suggestion and bought one of these.
I got it in over the weekend and used it for the first time yesterday.
I seriously want to thank the people who suggested a safety razor.
Correction: I meant to post the image, not a link.

Never tried the feather in mine. Have been using Persona blades, which are awesome.

Use Schick hydro, which is cheap from Costco.
This. I was a Gillette guy for years until switching to the Schick Hydro. Way better, IMO.

What's your preference in razors?

I use the Schick Hydro 3.
I think 5 blade razors are ridiculous. Truth be told, I think 3 blade razors are unnecessary, but that's more or less your only choices among cartridge razors these days.
The downside of the Schick is the gel lubricating reservoir is messy and the size of it doesn't allow you to get in nooks and crannies really well. Still, it provides a comfortable shave. VERY rarely do I get an ingrown hair or nick. It's also cheaper than Gillette.
A single blade safety razor is more than enough, but I'm not into shaving so much that I want to practice my technique and take my time shaving. It's just something I have to do in the morning.
I tried Harry's for a few months. I REALLY wanted to like their product, but the shave was just awful. Pulling, razor burn, nicks, etc that I never got with the Schick or even a Gillette before that. Harry's has great marketing. The packaging looks cool. The razor itself doesn't look like spaceship prototype. Unfortunately, they failed miserably on the most important part, the blades. They suck. Dull quickly and provide virtually no comfort. I'm pretty sure they use the same "German made" blades as the Tough Blade razor Brett Favre promotes.

I'm still experimenting with blades.
My first DE safety razor is the Perfecto brand, in the Amazon #1 bestseller package with the stand and the badger brush. I have an Astra blade in there, and got one of my best shaves with it last night.
Also have an Edwin Jagger DE 89, right now it's got a Shark blade in it, and that's pretty good, too.

Best I've found so far.

Did you go with the Feather brand blades?
Posted on 6/13/17 at 1:13 pm to Darth_Vader
Dollar Shave Club. Same deal. I had it for a year and accumulated so many razor blades that I cancelled it about 3 years ago. I still haven't run out of razors. I also only shave my neck under my beard and my cheeks. If you completely dry your razor blade after you use it, it won't go dull.

4 wheeled is better than three wheels
The battery life is somewhat suspect

A few weeks ago I tried the Harry's 5 blade option while we were on vacation. Felt like I was shaving with sandpaper and nicked myself almost daily. Pretty much just garbage.
I use Harry's. Smoothest my face has ever been.

Some 3-blade at the moment. A blade lasts me about 6 months, I shave in the shower, no mirror.
Oh, and cetaphil cream afterwards to keep my baby face wrinkle-free.

Cheapo disposable twin blade from Wal Mart. Might be Schick. Don't know. It's green
I use the Schick Xtreme 3 disposables. They work better than any of the more expensive options I've tried. More important than the razor is the Aveeno Active Naturals shave gel.
