He said today on The Jump that he believes that the best way to beat the Warriors is not through just have great players, but to have the right system. And the best system to do it is though the use of a big frontcourt. He specifically pointed to the Spurs model.

Now obviously, although the Pels have arguably the best frontcourt in the NBA, we lack the outside shooting really complete with Golden Stats. But maybe, just maybe we have the right model in place. Our mold and structure is in place, with just the right fillers we can get there.

This isn't a groundbreaking news thread at all, but thought on Mike Miller's comments and how they relate to our team?

That's a pretty big understatement

Best way to beat the warriors is if a tsunami or earthquake wipes out the entire team or the NBA does away with the 3 point line

One player type they really need is what Buddy was going to become. The shooter/scorer that runs all over the court non stop bending the defense. Jordan Crawford might be able to pull it off, but his defense was really bad so I'm not sure if they can have him on the court more than 20-25 MPG.

That is pure X and O's and in theory he is right. But there are things like playoff and championship experience that they will have in spades over the Pels that will trump us, even if the roster gets close. Their coaches and players all know how to win at the highest level. We don't even have guys who know what it feels like to win a single playoff series.

The bottom line is beating GS anytime in the next 4-5 years is a pipe dream and shouldn't even be a goal. Just get good enough to get to the playoffs and give your city something to be excited about.

the Spurs only had one big man play more than 20mpg in the most recent series. now, last year, i would buy it a little more. you could hide a big on Barnes when they went Death Lineup and just live with him beating you. but even then, in the one game they beat the 73 win Warriors, Duncan played 8 minutes and playmaking 4 Diaw played 35 minutes next to PF Aldridge at the 5.

with this iteration, i dont think you can go with two bigs. Durant at the 4 is too quick and skilled for bigs. you need wing defenders who can maybe make things sort of tough for him (there aren't many of those guys around). maybe you can hide a big on Iguodala? if i'm the Pels, i probably put Davis on Green and Cousins on Iguodala with Hill trying to keep up with Durant.

If the league eliminated the hand-check rule, the Pels might just have the perfect formula to beat the Warriors.

If I start a petition, will y'all sign it?

It's a terrible rule that has damaged the game immeasurably.

I DGAF about the Olympics and if foreign 7-footers can't body up in the paint or play D using the forearm between the elbow and wrist, maybe teams shouldn't draft them so high.

frick the hand-check rule.

Shaq is retired FFS. All the primmadonna bitches that lobbied for it can either man up or realize that there will never be another Shaq so they can at least rest easy at night knowing he'll never play again.

Cousins and Davis are the exact type of front court players that would give Golden State problems. Golden State does not have a big man that could even slow down either of them.

If Triston Thompson actually plays to his role and potential he gives Golden State huge problems.

Basically you focus on contesting 3 pt shots, getting them in foul trouble, and dominating the boards.

Golden State is superior because their players are consistent, they have a deep team, and it the number of athletic all-around big men is limited in the league. Davis and Cousins could be the core to construct a team to oppose a Golden State. That is if you could get a deep enough team around them.

Golden State doesn't have one guy that could even guard either of them decently. So Jrue guards Curry, Hill guards Durant, Davis guards Green. Zaza or Mcgee is matched up with Cousins. That leaves the primary match up with Thompson to fill out. It would be incredibly tough to guard the perimeter, but Davis and Cousins would completely control the paint.
