What is the status on St. George? And what all has to happen for it to become its own city?

StrongSafety says all we need is reparations and all these problems would go away.

If I'm not mistaken, they can start another petition drive this summer.

They'll need a certain number of signatures (I believe 25% of the area's registered voters) to get it on a ballot. Then it passes or fails on its own merits.

While I know she is a little smarter, in my mind I think of her as OtherDeeDee.

When she acts like this how does the local media handle it? Do they call her down? Newspaper? Local talk radio?

It won't matter by then. Because whoever is mayor in 4 years will be governing a much smaller Baton Rouge. SWB's crap is all but making St. George a reality by then

St George wouldn't be a bad thing if your agenda is a one-term Broome tenure.

While the city of BR would shrink, the city of St George would actually attract people back into the parish that would probably have more of conservative political views, which would increase the number of people voting against her in 3 1/2 years. Remember, it's a mayor-president elect, so it's the entire parish that will vote, not just the city of BR

I was just reading about it. It seems like once they get the signatures they need, it will be put up to vote.. And only the people who will be in the new city will get to vote, so if they are able to get the signatures then it shouldn't be difficult to win at the polls.

It's a mixed bag. Some defend her, some criticize her.

Sorry, but it won't happen. They will both not have charges pressed by the AG.

You're leaning way too left, in your thinking. There's no blood in the water .... take a deep breath & relax.

And there's the rub.

Two years ago, the city along with Delgado and Better Together pulled out all the stops to persuade people to remove their signatures, get signatures thrown out, etc.

This bunch isn't going to let St. George go without a fight. Too much money involved.

If I were to issue a statement, I would break it down a bit:

"The Baton Rouge Union of Police stand behind the men and women of the Baton Rouge Police Department 100%. It is complete bullshite that Broome would call for the termination of our Officers before the legal process has concluded."

"It is confusing to us that the Mayor-President would call for the termination of our Officers before the legal process has concluded, thus preventing their due process."

We have a mayor that doesn't believe in innocent until proven guilty. Unless of course, it's one of her tribe's Dindus .

Can you imagine her reaction if DA Moore said of a dindu "throw him in jail even though we have no proof".
All the dindu nuffin heads in BR would explode!

Between Mitch the Bitch and our very own BLM sympathizer
we're fricked.
Time to start thinking about living elsewhere.
