Vet advice- dog face swollen up

My golden retrievers face is swollen up. It's right around her mouth that's swollen, not her neck. Eyes are a little puffy. Gave her Benadryl just now- looked online and that was the suggestion and to monitor and if it worsens take her to an emergency clinic.
Anyone had similar experience? Not sure how long to wait before taking her/how fast it should go down with Benadryl if is just a minor allergic reaction. I don't know how it happened. She's outside a lot and we have bees so it could've been that. She's never done this before though (only a year old). Could be overreacting but I'm worried.

Did you check her well for a snake bite?

Could be a snake bite. My labs used to get bitten around their mouth/nose trying to smell them, first time they would swell up a lot and it would be less severe each time they were bitten

Probably snake bite or bee sting. Benadryl will help. As long as the dog continues to eat/drink I wouldn't worry too much. Should go down in a day or so.

Answer seems to be in the topic title... take the dog to the "vet" and get some "advice"

Sounds like a wasp lit her up. Benadryl should do the trick.
My boxer mix can't leave bugs alone. She gets tagged a couple of times a year.

My daughter's dog had a fat lip from a bee sting. As someone said if the dog is eating and drinking it is ok.

I could possibly be Blasto, look it up and see if the symptoms match and if it does get it to the vet tomorrow

Had it happen because of an impacted tooth. Swelling went down after a day or two but had it pulled.

Sounds like your dog has a peanut allergy.

I had a cocker that this would happen to every summer, sometimes 5 or 6 times. This dog was a retrieving fool. He would carry a tennis ball around in his mouth. We could not believe he was getting snakebit constantly. One day I saw him playing with something out the window at dusk one evening. I went to see what he was doing and he spit out a half crippled toad. Sure enough, about 20 minutes later, his lips were all swollen up. We thought about sending the little fricker to rehab.

Hope your dog is well. Sounds like it ate a bee. does it look like this?

Give one Benadryl per every 15 lbs.
If not any better by tomorrow, go see your veterinarian first thing in the morning.
