I wish they seeded the baseball like they do the softball...1 through 16. But they don't.

Just pray that they win tonite's midweek game---like they've not done too many times this season--or--all that SEC chit(success) won't mean a thing.........

So you're saying, if LSU losses tonight, they won't win the SEC or even be a National Seed? Even if we lose tonight and sweep Mississippi State?

Tonight matters only if we lose a game in Starkville. If we sweep them then tonight's game does not matter because UK and Florida will be playing each other this weekend, knocking themselves out of the SEC title, which LSU can win the overall title by sweeping.

It is simple...

We sweep State, we win the SEC, become a National Seed, and roll into the tourney looking beautiful as the #1 seed over two teams (UK and Florida) that beat us in the regular season. lol

False. Not in every case.

Ok well I'm assuming UK doesn't get swept and steals a game

Not to be the Debbie downer in here but let's go ahead and put this out there because it is the truth. LSU has consistently underperformed with a national seed in the PM era. It's great but I won't be excited until he wins a couple of games in Omaha. How many national seeds has LSU had in the last 7 years ? One win in Omaha is all those seeds got

We've never been to Omaha in the super regional era without hosting the super. I'll take my chances with a Nat seed.

True but we haven't had a ton off success with one either. My point is simple . If the team gets hot in the postseason and stays hot I don't feel a national seed is a must to get to Omaha. In the same aspect a national seed in no garuntee of success so I don't worry about it

Does LSU have wins outside the conference that equal UF's wins over FSU and Miami? I believe they have multiple wins vs those two.
This is why bringing up their midweek losses should not be compared to ours.

SMH!

Spelling errors aside, being a National Seed is the goal. LSU has NEVER been to Omaha without hosting a Super Regional since the format began in the late 90's. So define success...

We won a title in 2009 as a National Seed. We also lost two Super Regionals, once to Stony Brook and once to the eventual National Champion Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

The odds say that if we can get a National Seed, we can host a Super and get to Omaha much easier than if we have to travel to a Super Regional

LSU at home is 26-7
LSU on the road is 7-8 (2-2 in Neutral)

So we want to be a National Seed and then go from there!

cool. So they beat a crappy team who wont make post season. I can name a few teams we have done that too as well. Pay attention to the sport if you are going to make comments on it

SYH all you want but this team isn't going to Omaha and PM isn't a great coach. I laugh at everyone worried about wether or not we get a national seed. I get all of your points about it being easier and we haven't gone without being one but we haven't done anything being one over the last seven years. Take 2/3 from state win 2-3 in Birmingham Sweep . regional and I like our chances traveling

It becomes harder to move multiple spots later in the year, yes. Winning the series plus having our midweek opponents on the plus side will definitely solidify our case. However, RPI is just one piece of the NCAA puzzle.

Both of those teams may not make the NCAA Tournament this year, which will bring down Miami's long streak.

Miami is down in the 50s for RPI, and FSU is in the high 20s. LSU has comparable wins against Southeastern and ULL, a weekend sweep of Maryland, and a win against Baylor.

Granted four of those out of conference games are on the weekend, but Florida has a stronger midweek pool to pull from than LSU does.
