I think the French made their point which is why she did as well as she did. At the end of the day though they weren't ready to go scorched earth and voted for someone more in line with their traditional principles. It's sort of a win-win for them.
And I say this based on no knowledge of the local politics and very little knowledge of the candidates (much like most of this board), so my opinion means squat.

Why? The only thing about which she was conservative is immigration. Almost all of her other platforms were SUPER left.

France's election has little bearing on our own. The idiots are those conservatives that thought that because our electoral system in the US allowed a minority of voters to overrule the will of the people by electing Trump, that that had any bearing on France's election where they have a superior electoral system and the will of the people was far more united against the idiotic, xenophobic, Russian puppet candidate.

I didn't see anything about lepen wanting to nationalize banks. Other than going overboard on protectionism I didn't find anything unreasonable. I admit that I need to dig a little more
