I don't count a 25 yard deep statue as a loss.

Williams has to be an upgrade and we haven't even seen him yet. I mean Bell was already an upgrade but he should be SS now. And forgot Bush. He's an upgrade too.

Kikaha is also an "addition" after missing last year. Hell you can count PJ and almost count Breaux as additions on defense.

These are the starters we lost and who's replacing them:

Evans - Warford (should be an upgrade)

Cooks - Ginn (downgrade but still put up over 730 yards each of the last two years as well as 14 total tds)

Kruger - Kikaha, Okafor, and Hendrickson (definite upgrade over the 1.5 sacks Kruger had; may need to mix in a big body like Onyemata against heavy sets)

Webb - Lattimore, Breaux, and Williams (all are upgrades)

Byrd - Bush and Williams (both should be upgrades)

Only one spot is a clear downgrade, but it shouldn't be a huge drop off and we like to spread the ball and have the players to do that with.

Defense should all be upgrades. Even if the rookies aren't ready or turn bust we have vets who should all be better than their predecessors.

Only other "key" loss was Hightower, who was replaced with just some guy named Peterson and rookie Kamara.

And I forgot to mention Hooman is another "addition" after missing last year.

While I don't disagree with you - except your 45-50 sack projection which is ridiculous - you have to understand other teams have attempted to improve their rosters as well.

ATL was in SB last season - and God bless them, they made the most impressive collapse in Superbowl history. Superbowl hangover and loss of Shanahan =/= guaranteed shite team.
CAR was in SB 2 seasons ago - and God bless them as well for crapping out as well - but dismissing them is juvenile.
BUCS are an upstart and a good paper team, we'll see what the production is.

Point being, even with black and gold bias, the last 2 NFC Superbowl participants (haha) were from NFC South. As much as pundits have soured on NFC South in preseason, the truth is in the results.

These are teams to contend with that have made their own moves as well. Other divisions have been promoted by pundits in the past, with less success.

Saints haven't touched the playoffs in 3 straight seasons, they need to figure it out and figure it out fast. NFC South isn't going to lay down all of a sudden.
