I'll take O all day over PF regardless of record. He's a better recruiter, motivator, has put 10+ guys in the first round by himself on one side of the ball and has played better competition his whole career.
You know, I actually remember a time on this board when people didn't even want O around the program because of his past "questionable recruiting tactics".

How about any other candidate that wasn't a complete and utter failure in their tenure as head coach? How about anyone other than a career DL coach? If you want a list of those more qualified who could, at the very least, have been interviewed:
Literally anyone that has proven...
1. They can run a successful defense.
2. They can run a successful offense.
3. They can run a successful program.
Our current head coach has never once done any of these

Every single coach you named were either processed out or not available. Not a single one of them were leaving their school to come to LSU.
You keep acting like you opinions are facts.

You have a time frame to keep your recruiting class in tact and have someone in place to hire a staff in a timely manner
We were the first P5 program to have an opening. We had more time than any program in all of cfb and we hired a guy that wouldn't even be a top 5 candidate for defensive coordinator at vandy.

Hasn't done shite at a Power 5 program(which is an argument against O). Fleck had no interest in leaving the North
The irony is glorious. What has O done?

The same Pat Fitzgerald that's 77-62 at fricking Northwestern??? Hahahaha. Try again
Over a coach that had the same amount of sec wins in 3 years as Vandy had in 2016 alone.
Its amamazing how the only coach we cant use their head coaching past is ed orgeron.
You bring up these coaches' past and in the same breath say ed Orgeron's ole miss tenure is irrelevant.

And the fact that he used to take shots at lsu every chance he got.

Why didn't any of those coaches show any interest in LSU? An opening like LSU should have been able to draw in some of the best in the game right? Surely it would have gotten out to the media. Ed O made more being a d line coach than Vandy's D coordinator. No shite he wasn't a top 5 candidate. Bad example

What are you talking about?
Ed Orgeron is an LSU man. Always has been. Anything else is preposterous.

Coaches with jobs dont make it public that they want a new job. Have you ever followed cfb?

Yeah let them tell it and this is his dream job. He is on his 3rd dream job.

Not the past? So you posted his FUTURE record at NW?
Yeah we bring up the only time ed orgeron was entrusted enough to be anything besides a recruiting coordinator and a dline coach.
You laugh at other head coaches mentioned yet the only head coaching ed orgeron has ever done he ended up being the worst ole miss coach ever.
If any other sec program had hired lsu's dline coach youd be blasting that program and letting the fans of that program know that they just hired a career position coach that has never even had any success being a coordinator, let alone a head coach.
PF in 2007 won as many conf games as ed Orgeron has in his entire career.

There is zero proof of this. Not even a shred of evidence.
Im not saying he hasnt improved. Im saying no one knows if he has.
Maybe know one knows at this pount, but I would say that has has said a lot of things that could be argued as at least shreds of evidence.

Oh they don't? All I heard on ESPN during the search was how much interest Herman and Jimbo had if the right money was offered. All we heard were how much their agents and LSU were in talks which ended up being true. You think you know everything don't you Ricky?
Posted on 5/3/17 at 7:47 pm to Howyouluhdat
You can't argue with someone who won't admit things even if they're true to the contrary of what he believes. For instance the statement that there is not one single shred of proof that O has improved since Ole Miss when there is in fact plenty of proof that he has. He went 6-2 at USC and 6-2 at LSU, he brought in the number 7 recruiting class during a transition year LSU broke multiple offensive records under coach O with a makeshift OC and he has admitted he's changed his coaching tactics when it comes to allowing his coordinators to call the games. He's also upgraded his practice routines. These are things most ppl already know but the anti O crowd won't admit to or give any credit for. They continue to harpe on things that happened over a decade ago and ignore what's happening currently or recently. It's a biased opinion from the Miles worshipers who secretly want O to fail and shouldn't even be paid any attention too.
