Half the people bitching about the pass rush are just assuming Allen was the pass rusher we should have simply based on all of the " we need to take Allen " threads that popped up day one.

DE on 1st down and possibly 2nd, and slide the guy down next to Rankins on 3rd.
Additionally, depth at DT is more important than just about any other position. Allen and Rankins would wreck havoc because now you can't double on one.
However, if Allen's med evals were off, then no one can blame the Saints for not taking him.
