So. What are you thoughts now that the trade is final? I'm ok with it because we solidified our line which will help our old QB and the next one.

LOVE IT.

AD and DB are certainly happy with turning a one dimensional WR into a road grader to replace an aging vet, possibly giving us the top oline in the league.

Get back to me in 3 years. Can't call a trade when we don't know how good Ram is going to be.

We also can't discount the production we got from Cooks prior to the trade. We got great use of the pick.

You can only grade the trade on premise and between the 2 whether it is extending Drew's career or breaking in a new QB the RT position and solidifying the OL for years is worth more than a very talented big play WR.

We got the #1 tackle in the draft.

We win.

I think you can look at the trade that way if you want.

Personally I see you trading a player that you had 2 more seasons with and may have been unhappy for a chance to add two pieces of the puzzle.

One where now you have a new 5 year window to own on control those rights at a club friendly price. New Orleans might actually have a starting RT for 2018-2021 at an extreme bargain price.

If we add Dalvin Cook today I'll like it alot more, right now it's still suspect

I like it. Cooks might not be a one-dimensional WR (jury's out on that), but he was here.

Great numbers, but misleading... he was the quick strike guy. He wasn't the go-to for 3rd down, move the chains, or redzone.

Quick strikes are fine, but our defense was fragile, and got exposed too much. Fast TD drives followed by fast opponent TDs is basically a wash.
Need to slow it down, rest the D, establish the run, and maximize Brees' ability to control the flow.

Getting the top tackle in the draft trumps having a luxury at WR. REALLY odd, even in a down year, that O-line would drop so far. So just by this pick, I'd say we came out good. Will be interesting to see what we get with the 3rd rd pick.

I don't like looking at is as Cooks for pick 32

The extra pick will affords us more flexibility throughout the draft
