Be honest: Is John Paul II the only pope you recognize to this day?

Seriously, whenever I think or hear of the Pope, I visualize John Paul II, even though he's been gone for over a decade.
If the current Pope walked up to me to shake my hand (in regular clothes of course), I wouldn't even notice.

He was Pope for about 25 years. No one since him has come close.

Why would we lie? Oh, and no, I'd recognize that nutball Francis too.

He was iconic from the beginning.

Francis is only the second since PJPII

When you're the Bishop of Rome for that long your face would naturally become recognized the world over. He traveled more than any other pope before him, too. I doubt I ever see another pope like him in my lifetime.

Popes come and Popes go, the important thing to remember is the hat.

Benedict XVI was a boss, especially when you consider his work before Pope.
My two favorite popes ever:
Pius X
Leo XIII

Certainly the best in my lifetime.

He's the most recognizable to me solely based on watching Not Necessarily the News as a youngster.

Well, I met Pope Francis in 2015 so I recognize him. Other than that I wouldn't recognize any of them.

There will likely never be another pope for that length of time. From what I've heard, some of the powers that be don't want another 'young' pope. That's why the others won't be as memorable. But the other two have been Benedict and Francis

PJPII was also the pope at the height of the priest pedo scandals. He seemed like a great pope, but I wish he would have done more about that issue.

I recognize him, Benedict, and Francis.
But I'm not Catholic and those are the only Pope's of my lifetime.

If I had to bring back a Pope today to take over the dioceses, it would be Pope Urban. Enjoy.
