Adrian Peterson's deal with #Saints is 2 years, $7 million with $3.5M guaranteed. Max value with incentives and escalators is $15.25M.

Hell of a smart deal by the Saints. I love this move.

Ingram is the main back. That isn't even a question.

Ingram is No. 1. But if AP shows he can be a version of his 2015 self then I think it becomes more of a 1 and 1A scenario.

If he's not as effective as 2015 AP then he's still an upgrade over Hightower

Win-win. Guy still has some left in his tank and he should not see a DEF creeping up to the LOS with DB's. With Brees spreading the ball around and going downfield, he should have some space to navigate.

I heard a good assessment this am on the ride in...when we won the SB we were in the top 5-10 in rushing. OFF was balanced, won the field pos/TOP stat, gave the DEF a break, and finished games. You NEED two quality RB's in today's NFL for 16 games. We now have two.

Let's go get some impact DEFENDERS Thurs/Fri and kick this season in the @SS!

Saints record when the run 30+ times per game: 42-4

I have a question about this stat

Are we winning because we ran the ball or are we running the ball cause we are winning?

Bingo. I don't have the answer, but that's the right question to ask

The Saints will probably tell him he is #2 and Ingram will run pissed off and be the beast that he can be when he has a chip on his shoulder. The only drawback is the poor souls in the endzone that could get decapitated when he hums footballs at Mach 5 after he scores a TD.

AP will have opposing defenses stack the box which will allow Mike Thomas, Snead and Ginn Jr. to flourish.

Don't have the exact answer, but plenty of times we have seen Payton abandon the run game

I don't want to look too much into it, but I think it is very telling that we went out and signed a beast arse-and-mass run-blocking RG and now Peterson. Payton might finally be committing to the run game like he says he wants to

I really like the pick. I'm all for going after Defense of players in the draft, but we need to pick up an OT somewhere mid draft.

Really, it makes more sense, run the ball more, keeping AP and Ingram healthy while spelling them, nickel and dime with Drew down the field and eat up the clock.

Playing that kind of offense keeps pressure off the defense and would help it tremendously.

It could very well end up being a Steven Jackson situation for the Saints. But I think the difference here is that AP isn't as slow as Jackson, and he's not going to be asked to be the No. 1 guy.

Exactly. Jackson was brought in to be their main guy. We already have our main guy.
