These guys have earned many passes though. Good episode otherwise

Agreed. The writing is generally strong enough for me to overlook something stupid every so often. Even the rest of this episode was very strong. Jimmy telling Chuck how he wasn't going to have anyone there for him anymore after driving everyone away was pretty hard hitting.

So you are saying that it is prudent to go around making plans that have a high likelihood of not working.

Think of the plan more like a moonshot.

Gus can't take Hector head on at this point in the universe which is why he simply wanted Mike to harass another truck's delivery.

However, they both realize that is simply an annoyance for Hector and not any real damage. And, from Mike's perspective it also leads to killing more people "not in the game" and he wasn't interested in merely being Gus' contract worker truck bandit anyway. That's why he was ready to walk once Gus made it clear that he wouldn't be allowed to kill Hector.

Thus, this plan. If it makes you feel better, you can mentally retcon it that Mike knew he really only had a 10 percent chance of pulling it off but it was lost cost and low risk for both he and Gus so why not try it?

This may well have been mentioned, but the scene where Gus said Mike couldn't kill Hector yet reminded me a lot of the scene where Gus told the cousins/Hector they couldn't kill Walt.

'd have to assume Mike's timeline is moving at the same pace as Jimmy's timeline on the show, so how much time did Mike really have to survey things enough to confidently make such a decision?

He had already been doing it. Had it not lined up, he would have never shot and made his presence known, he could have got them next time. Worked out though, truck is a large target.

He didnt have to get it that saturated for the dogs to hit on it. Doesnt have to kill anyone, he takes them out and no one suspects him.

Makes Tio look bad, instead of giving the respect of having to murder his men to stop him as a threat..all his people are coming off as incompetent, makes him have to deal with them and look like an idiot, incapable of running a territory anymore.

I'm sure Mike had a plan B, if Plan A had not been a Go.

For example, is enough drugs actually going to stick to the truck to set off the dogs? Wouldn't most of it just blow off in the wind? Would any of it actually stick at all?

Was a short distance away, compacted powder hit with a high powered round would expand, the truck would retain fine trace amounts with natural magnatisim. Dogs have a unique way of identifying scent. It's beyond our comprehension, it would be like a dog trying to understand what it's like to read a book. They can look and see the pictures, but they couldn't understand a novel. A dog can break down each scent, we can smell a soup and get an ideas of what is in it, dog could walk into a room with 10 soups and know what was in each pot.

I think the bloodhound has the best nose in the k9 world.

Grizzly bear has the best though, they can do all that but like in a 25 mile radius. I can't imagine how horrible that would be. I mean..every time the neighbor farted..youd know.

Y'all are probably right.I saw earlier in the Thread where the Doctor was ID'd as the Doctor that worked on Gus after the poison Tequila episode in BB.

I guess if I connect the dots then it was Gus.

I need to watch it again anyways.

Yeah very good. I'm curious to see if they showed why Rebecca left. Jimmy said "no wonder Rebecca left you"

So she didn't die. She left Chuck.

People dont realize how well dogs smell. You can handle drugs, go to your car with nothing on you, touch the handle to get in and a dog can hit on that, days later. So im pretty sure actual product sitting on the back of the truck will leave more than enough of a scent for a dog to hit on.

He knew where the stop to drop weapon off was. I dont think its as far fetched as people are making it out to be. Slightly ridiculous? Yes.

I still think he had a backup plan or a "no go" had it not worked out. There was no hurry on the situation. Dope wasn't going anywhere, he could try for next time if the plan had been compromised.

Even if it didn't work, no harm/foul.

It wasn't in last nights episode.

Here is the pic.

Right. I remember that. I was just wondering if maybe my DVR had cut off early or something like that.

Seriously I didn't get it. I know he brought the gun to shoot the shoes, but why even shoot 3-4 times?

Just hold fire until you shoot the shoes

Because when he shoots the shoe, he wouldn't want them to stop.

That may have spooked/disrupted the guys. Instead their senses were dulled in thinking someone was probably shooting wild hogs or something.

Did you watch the whole scene? Even if you didn't know what Mike was doing at first, you could figure it out when the 2 guys come to the conclusion that it was just hunters. It was in the subtitles.

Yeah. That parallel struck me too. Especially the NOT YET part (because he needed each person for "business" reasons at those particular times)implying that he didn't have a problem with them being killed once his business with them was done.

Why does it matter if the plan fails? The plan is very low risk for Mike and Gus so who cares if it doesn't work.

Well, it was probably important enough for that plan not to fail...I mean, there's still the matter of the bag of coke, which probably wasn't paid for out of the petty cash drawer
