I'd have to assume Mike's timeline is moving at the same pace as Jimmy's timeline on the show, so how much time did Mike really have to survey things enough to confidently make such a decision? Like I said, it was still pretty cool to watch it go down like that...but ordinarily, based on prior expectations from Mike, he would've had a more air-tight plan. While entertaining, it was kinda Roadrunner/Coyote level shite...
I dunno, it just seemed like there were too many variables where that plan could've gone sideways, provided that was the plan all along. But then again, this is the same universe where someone successfully planted a turret to wipe out an entire team, so I guess it's OK to get a little zany every now and then, lol...

I feel it was implied that Gus helped him out with the recon. Gus being Gus, already knows the ins and outs of his competitor's business(like where they stop to drop their guns before crossing the boarer.) Also, hes clearly helping him since he sends him to his on call doctor from BB to get the cocaine.

It's this universe's specialty. Fulminated mercury, clandestine train robberies, magnets, poisonous plants, ...

Sprinkling some drugs on top of the truck by shooting a shoe just as the truck passes by is maybe the most far fetched of any of the hijinks in this universe so far. There are several questionable things that a person couldn't know how it's going to work without extensive experimenting. For example, is enough drugs actually going to stick to the truck to set off the dogs? Wouldn't most of it just blow off in the wind? Would any of it actually stick at all?
I'm not too worried about it because I still think that the show overall is pretty awesome. But that was pretty stupid.

Can someone explain the last exchange between Jimmy and Kim about what his options are and what they are going to do?
They are going to shove the one presented and actually fight the charges straight up in court? Is that correct?

I may be wrong.I just don't see Gus as getting involved like that.Gus just let Mike know that short of killing Hector,he could frick with his business all he wanted.
Dude, the doctor was in Breaking Bad. You don't have to speculate if he was one of Gus's connections.

Chuck got the the DA to offer a diversion program which would allow him to escape any jail time or permanent record, but he would have to admit to the crime and submit his admission to the bar association, effectively ending his career as an attorney. So yes, they are going to fight the charges rather than accept stopping being an attorney.

They have strong noses

could be a post-breaking bad season too. And whilst ongoing..like, when Walt leaves sauls office..what does he do? Having to pull strings and react to Walt being in his life.
What I'd really like to see from a post BB time line would be Ernie coming back into town from having been away somewhere (maybe Chile) and starting to revive or take over Gus' operation. Heck, come to think about it that might be a good segue to another series.

Not that strong. No nose is strong enough to smell something that isn't even there.

Why is it so non-plausible for cocaine residue to remain on the BACK of a track the same way dirt or sand?
How can wind blow it off if it's behind the trailer of the truck?

Wind could easily have prevented it from falling onto the truck. The truck had to line up perfectly underneath the sneakers, and perfectly means WRT to whatever the wind conditions were at the time it was parked. Mike did it in one try.

Why did Mike fire warning shots? Why even fire?
So those guys were Gus's competition?

It isn't plausible for that to be your plan. It's a shot in the dark plan that might work and might not. It might not even stick to the truck. Is cocaine or meth supposed to be particularly sticky? The drugs might get blown off. It might not come out of the shoe at all or very little upon being shot. And this is only scratching the surface of potential things that could go wrong. Hence you would have to do a lot of experimentation and repetition to see how it would actually work. Repetitions that you would never actually have the opportunity to do. It's an absurd plan. But whatever. I'm moving past it to the rest of the show.
Also, wind still blows at the back of the truck.

Those weren't warning shots. One shot could have spooked them and caused them to abort the run. Multiple shots were written off as "hunters".

Yep, Hector's peeps.

Why does it matter if the plan fails? The plan is very low risk for Mike and Gus so who cares if it doesn't work.
Posted on 4/26/17 at 11:19 am to Remulan
So you are saying that it is prudent to go around making plans that have a high likelihood of not working. His time isn't better spent doing something that he thinks will definitely work. You are stretching really hard at defending something that is simply silly. It was a silly plan, and it was farfetched writing that stretches the limits just a little of what is believable.
What this comes down to is some people can't take even an inkling of minor criticism. Anything that isn't direct praise in every way is something that should be challenged.

No, it was definitely Gus that hooked Mike up with the doctor

Tru dat.
While I thought it was a stretch, I didn't mind. The last two episodes had more entertainment value than the entirety of the series up to that point. Frankly, I've found Saul's backstory extremely tedious, and I'm glad the show's moving forward.

Yeah it was pretty stupid. Almost as dumb as the giant magnet from BB.
These guys have earned many passes though. Good episode otherwise
