Either we're about to see a joint strike by the U.S., China, and South Korea on the DPRK, or, China is preparing to retaliate against a U.S. invasion of DPRK, or China and DPRK are preparing to invade South Korea.

China is all about money these days, and keeping the masses happy with jobs. They don't care about ideology anymore except insofar as it helps them keep their population in line. They are not going to invade South Korea or retaliate against the us, their most important market for their export dependent economy, over that fat little insane douchebag, who they increasingly hate

No, it'd be a repeat of the Korean War where after the allies broke through the North Korean advance and had forced them to retreat north the Chinese stormed accross the border and beat the allies back to the original border.

There will no war with Russia or China no matter what the U.S. does to Syria or North Korea, period.

You are in no position to credibly make this concrete statement. Wars often break out even when both parties are hell bent on avoiding them. History has shown us this time and time again.

China is essentially communist in name only at this point.

War with the U.S. is horrible for their economy.

The Chinese president and media basically mocked Trump after their meeting. Taking shots at him over the Syrian strikes.

Wrong.

quote:

China Daily said both parties appeared "equally enthusiastic about the constructive relationship they have promised to cultivate".

quote:

State-run Chinese tabloid Global Times said the meeting "served as an indicator that the China-U.S. relationship is still very much on course since the Trump administration took office in January", and it was likely the two nations would develop a more "pragmatic relationship".

quote:

Their comments were echoed by a front-page commentary in the overseas edition of the ruling Communist Party's official People's Daily which said the meeting established the tone for the development of U.S.-China relations

quote:

In the talks, Trump pressed Xi to do more to curb North Korea's nuclear program and the two agreed to a 100-day plan for trade talks aimed at boosting U.S. exports and reducing the gaping U.S. trade deficit with Beijing

The Chinese overthrowing Kim and annexing NK with South Korea's help would be much better.

That sounds about right.

No, we want South Korea, not China, running the north when this is all said and done. Together, they're a well balanced country. The north has all of the coal and ore deposits, the south has the agriculture. Plus, the South would likely rebuild the North's energy and internet infrastructure just to help get more people hooked on Starcraft.

If true, I'm impressed with China's ability to move 150K troops in just two day's time.

2 pronged attack. We jointly hit the missile sites and Kim Jun Un and China sends in troops to secure everything and keep order.

All we need now is for the idiot to show his face so we send in a quick strike.

BEIJING — With President Xi Jinping safely out of the United States and no longer President Trump’s guest, China’s state-run media on Saturday was free to denounce the missile strike on Syria, which the American president told Mr. Xi about while they were finishing dinner.

Xinhua, the state news agency, on Saturday called the strike the act of a weakened politician who needed to flex his muscles. In an analysis, Xinhua also said Mr. Trump had ordered the strike to distance himself from Syria’s backers in Moscow, to overcome accusations that he was “pro-Russia.”

That unflattering assessment reflected China’s official opposition to military interventions in the affairs of other countries. But it was also a criticism of Mr. Trump himself, who Mr. Xi had hoped was a man China could deal with

quote:

Mr. Shen added that many Chinese were “thrilled” by the attack because it would probably result in the United States becoming further mired in the Middle East.

“If the United States gets trapped in Syria, how can Trump make America great again? As a result, China will be able to achieve its peaceful rise,” Mr. Shen said, using a term Beijing employs to characterize its growing power. “Even though we say we oppose the bombing, deep in our hearts we are happy.”

There is a humanitarian crisis there, and many are starving. Another reason the "supreme leader" has to go.

This doesn't have to be a move targeted at Kim, but rather a move targeted to respond to US/allied aggression.

Could go either way. More likely a move against US.

Yeah, my first thought that this was China preparing to help defend The Democratic People's Republic of Korea against the West - either by actual troop involvement or simply a show of force.

I think China views North Korea as the little brother that is always causing problems; however, just like my little brother, I can pick on him all I want but there's going to be hell to pay if someone else does it.

This could all just be a simple little reminder to the world: "hey, don't forget that we're right here so don't start no shite in our back yard."
