it seems more often then not the final 4 and national title game is marred with awful shooting. the depth perception issue is constantly brought up.... what other excuse is there for the awful shooting we saw in these 3 games?

They should play it in MSG every year.

I want to say I read somewhere that since they've started hosting in those massive stadiums that shooting percentage has gone down across the board.

They need to at least keep it in NBA arenas but they're not going to give up that revenue.

Yes. They usually don't even come close to filling up the lower half of whatever stadium its in anyway.

Yes, the atmosphere is terrible and hardly anyone ever shoots well because of the depth perception.

I said this in the other thread, but I don't know if this is the case, and I'd want some data to prove it.

Again, Louisville/Michigan, Duke/Wisconsin, and North Carolina/Villanova were all played at a very high level and had a ton of made shots. Maybe it's specific NFL stadiums? Maybe it's horrific shooting teams making the finals? I am not sure.

I wish they would at least go back to pre-2009 where the court wasn't centered on the football field.

Yes, having the assistant coaches down below the head coach is weird and different than what HCs are used too. You could really see the discomfort with frank Martin who depends on a coach right beside him as he paces the sidelines. The whole atmosphere suxdix to boot.

No looks epic. I was in the last row in 2012 and saw fine.

I have actually shot a basketball from the court in both an arena and dome setting. I must say there is no doubt a huge difference (obviously). Like the poster above said, the depth perception is a big factor.

Of course they should because the quality of play takes a hit in these huge domes, but as stated above, the NCAA doesn't care about that and they're just going to keep raking in the money from having it at these football stadiums.

Hold it in NBA arenas and jack up the ticket prices.

Better atmosphere
Better viewing experience
Better shooting

It would improve the game. The NCAA doesn't actually care about that though.

I know they probably do it to maximize revenue, but basketball games need to be played in basketball arenas.
