Edit vdeo here LINK

Two council on Aging dirtbags (Trudy and Tasha) wrote a will for an elderly client and made themselves the executors of a 95 year old woman's estate . They wrote themselves into the will to the tune of 500 per month for the next 20+ years. God, I hate these kind of people. They are supposed to advocate for elderly clients, and instead they write wills and make themselves the beneficiaries. They even notarized it themselves. Very convenient. It makes you wonder how many times they have done this.

Local corruption is often disturbingly more despicable than federal corruption.

I don't have an issue with the COA assisting their constituents with estate planning. In fact, I think it's important. However, any reasonable charitable/government organization that helped someone create a will would never make themselves or an agent of the org as an executrix. ESPECIALLY with a maintenance fee of 50% of the entire estate.

Legally suspect but morally and ethically reprehensible. From a director of an organization that is supposed to be looking out for the best interests of the elderly...they're stealing from them.

i know of a guy who finagled (sp) an 8K per month annuity payment to himself after the primary person/patient passed away. Very sad. No respect for that guy.

That's fricked up. Hopefully they have enhanced criminal and civil penalties in LA for doing this to vulnerable elderly people.

And we funded their organization to the tune of 8 million a year.

They must have political juice. How does that happen with no opposition?

LINK to the story

quote:

Plummer began going to the Council on Aging two years ago. Her family said she had the ability to make people laugh. Her legacy of love that she instilled in all of her family members lives on.

"My grandmother was a hardworking woman," Dan Freeman, Plummer's grandson said. "We were a close family. My mom, grandmother, they had a good relationship. She was a loving person."

A family photo that was taken recently is the last memory they all have of everyone together.

"She was a short little old lady who minded everyone else's business," Jacquelyn Antoine, Plummer's daughter said with a smile. "She knew everything that went on."

quote:

They said after Plummer began attending the Council on Aging about two years ago, she met Clark Amar. In July of last year, Plummer signed documents that were drawn up by attorney and the agency's board member, Dorothy Jackson. The documents made Clark Amar - the agency's director - the overseer of Plummer's estate. Jackson admitted to WBRZ, she wrote the document and even notarized it. The family didn't have a clue it existed, until they said they got a call from Clark Amar less than 24 hours after Plummer's death.

"After my grandmother passed, we were preparing for the funeral and my sister received a phone call saying she (Clark Amar) was the executrix over my grandmother's estate," Freeman said. "We never heard of her before then."

Here is Tasha Clark Amar:

Looks like this article from the Hayride, back in November was pretty accurate.

Title was "If You Vote For An $8 Million Dedicated Tax In Baton Rouge To Subsidize The Council On Aging, You’re A Moron"

It is a shame but people prey on weakness (or opportunity) and if you peel back all programs like council on aging, I am sure there would be a lot more that would be revealed.
