Yep. My wife owns a small business. She's been making more money than me for quite a while now. I have my job mainly for insurance and 401K.

My wife made more than me when we first got married. Then she decided to go back to grad school and become an elementary teacher. $60k of student loan debt and cut her salary in half.

Mine does. We both do pretty well but she makes a little more than I do.

It's greatness is inversely proportional to the amount of work she does at home at any given time. Seeing patients all day, then charting all night every night gets annoying.

Currently awaiting news to know. She will either tie me or surpass me by a little bit. Either way I will be super OK with it because she currently makes half as much as me.

Ours is close to even. We're always about 6 months/1 year separated from making about the same. She makes more, and then I catch up, then she gets a raise and then I catch up 6 mo/1 yr later.
She also works A LOT more hours than I do. She doesn't get paid by the hour, but the sheer amount of time she spends at work is far greater than what I spend.
It's not something I've ever really concerned myself with because we can both support our respective interests with our own income.

Wife and I have flip flopped a couple of times being the higher wage earner. Currently it's me carrying the bigger load, but it never mattered much to either of us at the end of the day.

When she finishes grad school she will have a way higher salary than me, But she will never touch what my assets are worth.
