No way. It's arguably the 5th major but it is only possible to compare it to the PGA. The British Open and US Open are by far better tournaments.

2nd was an overstatement.

Downvoted myself

I for sure like it more than the PGA.

It's the strongest field of any tournament all year

It's a much more entertaining tournament than the PGA.

No problem calling a major but I get why it isn't.

Love how the Masters and Players are close to one another time wise. That Island green is so intimidating.

The bridge to the US Open. Last year had me all messed up with the British, the Olympics, and the PGA all within weeks of each other.

I'm a fan of the British open especially when the wind is howling.

Anybody watch the Jack documentary?

Watching part 2 now - pretty good - Jack is clearly the best golfer of all time. This documentary does a great job of laying out the clear case - just a dominating golfer.

Jack
Tiger
Jones

That has to be top 3 all time right?

1) US Open
2) British Open
3) Masters

At least, to me. The Masters is the best course and usually produces a great leaderboard. But the field is super weak and the coverage sucks arse.

I love the US Open and the British Open a frick ton. I know The Masters is #1 in most people's hearts, which is cool.

most have hogan ahead of jones (the occasional writer from the 60s might have hogan ahead of nicklaus) ... i've never seen anyone not have hogan ahead of jones ... really hard to describe how great hogan was, and his injury from the car wreck probably figures into it a little bit ... many have snead ahead of jones, though those are the top 5 now that tiger has been added ... palmer/watson/player/nelson are usually next ...
