Like others have said, I think something simple is fine. But it can definitely be overdone.

I was waiting to board the same flight as a ~60s aged couple a while back. Both had LSU shirts on, bright gold/purple LSU jackets, and LSU luggage. The flight ended up being delayed, and it sent them into a rage. They spent the next hour dropping the F bomb every other word very loudly so everyone could hear, and they were using horrible language to describe the airline employees and how lazy they all are which is why the flight must be delayed. I was embarrassed FOR them, and I was also so glad I didn't have anything LSU related on.

Travel with or without college gear?

This is my "go to" outfit for air travel. Sweatsuit is strictly for ground travel only. I go with the track suit if I'm riding the subway.

I bet you're the type of guy who goes to the dinner party and lectures everyone on how what they're drinking isn't real wine.

If it's trashy, I must be. I wear LSU polos all the time when traveling.

I don't wear anything like that while going through airports. I was working in San Diego and wore an LSU shirt while walking on the beach. Some guy yelled 'go tigers' as I passed. He was from Gonzalez and was visiting his son who was in the navy.

I wear LSU shirts to school at UNO. I'd imagine that would give you a panic attack

I use to wear Tulane shirts to school at LSU and never realized the hate people had for Tulane until then. Especially kids that never experienced them as an actual rival in sports.

So if you saw a baw like this traveling in the airport, you would call him trashy?

I've once worn a jersey and a cap while on vacation in Gatlinburg but it was toward the end of the week when we were playing the Vols in Knoxville in 2001.

Other than that, I don't deck myself in gear on any other travel but I don't look down on anyone if they are dressed in college clothing. I just wear my gear in casual settings.

There are more important things in life than getting worked up over college clothing.

I think unless you are going to a game or to watch the game, a hat and shirt combo is too much. Was in Disney and saw people wearing both, that's a bit much. Now one or the other, no problem at all.

When I travel for leisure, I'm taking like 1 polo and a pair of khakis. Everything else is casual. Meaning t shirts.

I rep LSU and La Tech whenever I travel.

Since LSU has such shitty colors I guess it makes it worse. I mean, wearing a red shirt with a Alabama or Georgia logo on it wouldn't be so bad I guess. Purple and gold is just crap. Purple shirts are kinda tacky. Not to even mention gold shirts.

I wear LSU gear all the time and occasionally get a "That's a Geaux Tigers" from a fellow tiger.
