Yup. I'm looking at a quote I just received right now and the domestic pipe is a soft twice as much as the Korean option. Guess which one I'm going with?

The "dirty shite" is good in my book.

Let me rephrase. It's low grade crude that requires heavy refining. We don't need it and shouldn't want it. Send it to China.

I expected the best quotes would come from somewhere in Asia. We can't compete with their steel factories, not even close.

So at least Asia's economy will get a boost. Maybe we can sell them some of our high grade crude and replace it with the low grade Canadian crude.

Again, speak for yourself.

And we should never send ships full of crude oil to China. Those ships will start coming back full of refined gasoline...not good for the US economy.

Well we should all install stove pipes and start burning coal in our cars because that will be just about as clean as the Canadian crude.

What are you talking about? You refine the crude. You just have to metal up or adjust strategies and unit capabilities. It doesn't create more pollution. Especially not on the level to make it noticeable and definitely not on a consumer level.

Just like I said a lot of the people with opinion don't know the difference between the keystone pipeline or the Dakota Access pipeline. They don't even know the facts, just fifth hand babble from twitter and columnists who's following will eat up drivel no matter how false.

You dumbass.

Some of our US refiners have this great stuff called processes and technology that allow them to take this heavy crude and make it into just as good of a product output as anything else.

I don't know what the answer is here, but it is a bad situation.
We were in need of some pretty big pieces of 347H recently on a job I was associated with and the best we could do without going to shite countries was to get it from Italy considering our time constraints.
Nobody in the US was even a consideration.

OK maybe I was over exaggerating but don't our refineries operate at nearly 100% already? Are we sending the refined product back to Canada or will it be entering US markets?

So refiners, their workers, their suppliers/vendors, etc etc etc are not part of the US oil economy?

people think the drillers are the only ones from LA. they never mention the massive refineries we have here they employ.

Chinese steel isn't allowed in sone industries in the US due to the low quality and unknown compositions. More often than not it's specified that the steel most be provided by North America or Europe.

We don't refine dumbass. Our vehicles are designed to burn pure African crude.

Maybe higher tariffs for incoming steel to make it competitive.

I'm not for reducing environmental regulations, I think they are very important. Just have to make it financially possible for them to operate in the US

The pipe has been in storage for years waiting for the project
