Why not? Everyone doesn't want to whore around before settling down. Lots of bad endings for these stories for sure, but a hell of a lot of success stories as well.

I changed a lot each step from high school to college to young professional. That would probably be the thing that tends to end these relationships. People end up being totally different than when the relationship started because it goes through some of the most volatile periods of life. People change. They just might not be reliably molded.
