Holy shite. What is your actual argument here? The guys is out of his mind saying an engineering undergrad is harder than med school. HE most certainly needs to delve into them if he's hoping to make an actual point.

You need to go back and re read the post you started arguing with me on. I'm not saying a bs in engineering is harder than med school. Im saying we shouldn't be comparing the two.
Engineering bs is likely tougher than the undergrad degrees that med/law students have and engineering master's/PhD is likely tougher than med/law school programs.

Out of all the people I know in law school who are in the top 10-20% of the class, none of them have an engineering background, even though there are some engineers in the class who have actually left respectable engineering jobs.
However, I was in a class once where a teacher had to explain to the class (a portion) the concept of compound interest/present value. Point is, there are different types of intelligence, each rigorous in their own way.
Law school is not hard, per se, more than it's difficult because the expectation is so high. Good luck getting a good position if you aren't in the top 20%. Grades are based on how you outperform your peers, so it adds competitive rigor. There is an expectation to be able to balance a deluge all at once.

I'm a ChemE and I graduated with a 3.7. I don't know much about law school, but I'd absolutely argue Med School is the hardest. Maybe not exclusively from a problem-solving perspective, but definitely from the sheer volume of work required. ChemE is tough, but I still coasted through to my degree (and am still coasting a little in my job). Med school would have chewed me up and spit me out. No way would I have the willpower to make it through that.

Now having agreed with the above, I will make the claim that as far as undergrad degrees are concerned, Engineering disciplines, specifically Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical, are probably the most difficult.

Isn't the gist of the argument comparing the educational paths of engineers, physicians, and lawyers?
To be an engineer, you have to have a bachelors in engineering, to be a physician you have to graduate from med school, to be a lawyer you have to graduate from law school...

I think it depends upon what type of mind you have.
If you have a mind for numbers, engineering is probably the easiest.
If you have a more analytical mind, law is probably the easiest.
If you can memorize lots of information with the ability to regurgitate back, medical school is probably the easiest - although the residency might kick your arse.
I know a girl who graduated at the top of her med school class who had to switch undergraduate majors because she could get through Math 1550 at LSU. And, she claims she studied her arse off for it several different semesters.
