Interior truck lights terrible for hunting

I bought a used 2013 Ford F150. Come to find out, this must be the only year model where you can't turn off the setting for the interior lights, cargo lights, and daytime running lamps coming on when you open the door. Anybody got any suggestions other than trying to hotwire a switch into my panel board? I saw somewhere on the interwebs that maybe the dealer can reprogram the truck for "police blackout mode" but I called the dealer and they don't know anything about it. This is going to make it difficult to sneak up on turkeys before daylight. I creep through my club listening for gobblers, and it all goes quiet when I stop and all the lights come on when I open my door. Not so stealthy Ford.

Newsflash: They hear and see that truck long before they see the freaking dome lights and such when you open the door. Your idea of sneaky when it comes to turkeys, is not very sneaky.

You in Baton Rouge?
I can reprogram the computer. There is a "dark mode" you can activate that keeps all lights off on open door

Sounds to me like you're parking too close to the birds

Pull the fuse(s) before you open the door

It's not the truck that's the problem, it's the driver that wants to drive around listening for turkeys. Of course they go quiet. They can see your POS truck. You are worried about the interior lights. A turkey can see your truck from 10 miles away. What makes you think it's the lights?

Try slightly applying the emergency brake, like just a click. It may work.
