I think most Tiger fans know Johnny Jones is a good dude and that he loves LSU. Unfortunately, the basketball program declined on his watch and a change became necessary.

I don't sense any ground swell of hatred toward Johnny at all. People just wanted a change at the top of the program in the hopes that the program will be successful once again.

Simmons was responsible for half of the wins last year. I saw simmons play in PMAc. His IQ and passing range is beyond the other players. There is too much jealousy and ego in that team.
So Johnny could not coach others too. Tim could care less. Gray could care less. You must watch the games.

We all wish Johnny the best and love our fellow tiger.

Yeah it must have been a kick in nuts to have Ben Simmons have one of the most productive freshman seasons in ncaa history.what a piece of shite Simmons is.

fricking ignorant.

Yea.

Coach K really dodged a bullet on that one when when the best recruit in the country picked LSU.

Do you actually think JJ cares what a bunch of Rantards on this message board think? Do you think he is "humiliated" by a bunch of people who get their jollies down voting each others comments and coming up with sarcastic rebuttals over morning coffee?

Come on man, you give us too much credit!

I am sure JJ is staying up nights because a handful of zeroes on a sports message board are saying mean things about him.

This is horse shite. Every single coach in the country wanted this guy given the opportunity. Don't act like someone would have to twist a coaches arm to sign him.

You are right about JJ not being able to coach simmons. But don't act like he couldn't be coached. Send that guy to a school like KU, UK, Duke, Carolina, where there is a coach who's done it over and over. I guarantee you Simmons would either break and submit to the program, or he'd sit the bench.

Funny how he had a better record with Simmons last year. I don't blame him for wanting to coach here. But he has the record for most consecutive losses as someone else pointed out.

No one has bashed Jones as a person.

Yes, his biggest mistake was getting the consensus top player in the NBA draft to join his team. It's not as if he was underachieving with NBA talent prior to Simmons' arrival

This is about the 4th time the OP has posted some BS lecture to the rant and failed to grasp the irony of doing so with the screen name "helpmackpack."

Charles McClendon gave blood, sweat and tears to the school for 18 years. His biggest mistake was not being able to beat Bear Bryant at a time no one was beating Bear Bryant. He deserved respect for being LSU's all-time winningest coach when he left instead of a bunch of assholes driving around Baton Rouge and other parts beyond with bumper-stickers saying "Help Mac Pack!" If you care about LSU, you would back off the ridiculous ranting about McClendon

Someone needs to make a Chris Hansen-esque gif of Quarterman popping in anytime someone blames Simmons for what happened last year.

I don't understand one thing about the JJ era. When we were short players, he did a great press that worked wonders. Usually with Coleman up top (loved Coleman btw)

I never understood why when he did bring in some athletes, why he stopped going to it....
After Stringer left he kicked Hickey off the team. I think those guys along with Carmouche and Coleman were running the press on their own.

Remember when we used to blame our poor 3 point defense on the fact that our guards were short?

CJJ has to be the worst defensite coach of all time.

Do you realize how bad we would have been last year without Simmons?

The guy had one of the best freshman seasons EVER. Not just at LSU.

What was it? 19/12/5? Ridiculous stats for a frosh with a terrible head coach.

I think everyone took his word for it considering prior to this massive losing streak Johnny's winning % was pretty high up there.

C'mon man be real, nobody counts those dudes who coached 12-30 games in 1903. That's the kind of over the top shite that makes a bunch of you look like fools.

In hindsight, JJ lost the program when they fell apart vs NC st even before Simmons got here. Lost me at that point too, although I didn't really know it

Then the OP should actually make a factual statement. The only way Johnny Jones is the 3rd winningest coach is if you put prerequisites on the rankings.

How did Simmons cause him to lose 15 in a row all the way from Philly?

These stumblebums will do anything to shite on Coach Jones. They will never give him credit for anything. Be interesting how they will react to next year's losing season.

Practically everyone criticized his coaching, and I think rightfully so. Now, he's not the coach any more but he is still a Tiger (both player and coach), still loves LSU and still deserves to be remembered and appreciated for his efforts and his contribution to the school.

He was a contributor to two finals four teams as a player and coach. He's contributed exponentially more to LSU hoops than anyone here. He was not a good head basketball coach and was rightfully fired. The end.
