It's a very stressful time. We are doing the same amount of work with half the resources and half the revenue stream. HR and HSE departments are being eliminated. I'm seeing a lot more fatalities and injuries. Hopefully we don't see a repeat of BP Macondo.

As soon as I find the right Bond villain to short $100 million in Saudi oil stocks and then blow up their production infrastructure, it will bounce back.

Not everyone has or wants a job, we should probably pay a little extra for them too.

I like your spirit but prices are already below cost for commoditized service businesses like trucking... many people just quit paying bills as well.

I just miss being out there.

Traveling to different shite hole towns
Meeting new people
And bragging about how much dirt we cut in 12 hours

if everyone who has a job pays a little more in taxes... think of all the government jobs that could be created!

When gas prices are lower I have more disposable income that can be spent at other businesses. If gas prices go up then disposable income drops and everyone (except the oil business) suffers.

I hear you but watch yourself. Operators are cutting corners again. We had a second fatality of the year already. More than all of 2013, with half the number of employees.

With gas prices down, your unemployment check will go further.

If things pick up quickly, it's going to be warm bodies filling all positions within the service industry without any investment in quality/safety plans... still operating at crappy prices... adding to the risk of incidents. Always happens.

I think we should coin a new term for this. My nomination will be:

"The Truck Nuts Itch"

Same as I tell my people. Had a client just 2 weeks ago that had a bad PCB on the drawworks controls. Only way they could move the blocks was to override the crown, floor and bridge protection. They ran like that for 12 hours until they finally bent a joint of 5 1/2 HWDP and both bales. Offshore as well. Lucky they didn't kill someone.
